Well, well, well. That was pretty ace! Big pat on the back to Gerald for making that one of my top 3 forum rides

Nice pace from start to finish, as always nice meeting some new faces aswell as regulars and great to be in the first group of riders who were actually able to complete the full course.

The cappucino and egg & bacon panini was food of the Gods at Bar Italia - good call G!

Nice one, thanks to all the riders yesterday who were sociable, funny, and rode in a group well. It was a really good vibe, like someone said a page or two back.

I think that rubbed off on *most *of the babylons we met too.

It was a wicked morning.

The shitty caff a little group of us went to was just about adequate - just as the rain got a bit heavy. After I got home I realised we should have gone to South Bank, Giraffe would've sold us beers/bloody marys I reckon. And they do great breakfasts. Next time gadget.

We considered The Beehive in Brixton for about 2 seconds before we all went our separate ways...

I had fun. We went drinking all day after Bar Italia, and I am a bit fucked today. Joe, you are a bad influence. Good man, good times. Sorry the Mai Tais were so poorly made. I was completely trolleyed by that point.

Apart from that the day was flawless. The poor sod getting done by a 4 foot tall copper with an attitude problem for riding his bike on the pavement in Whitehall was funny. Great to meet some new people and see some old friends.

Really really nice ride, good to ride my road bike in the manner it was built for, with a cruising pace of 15-20mph most of the way and a top speed of 29.3 when I sped up enough to allow me to ride no-handed so I could fish my gloves out of my pocket :-) I'm glad I didn't sell that bike now.

Didn't see Harry Major though. He must have gone so fast he was invisible to the naked eye.
Didn't see Fred either, who was supposed to be leading the Easties bagel meet to Blackheath. So I led it instead. We went a bit fast though and got there at 6am.
