  • Brilliant ride fellas, was a pleasure to cruise those Kentish lanes with all of you, it was a true mix and a bit of something for all the family as jonny said. Smooth, bumpy, muddy, gravely, wind, no wind, flat , up and down hills, dark and light, land and sea.
I got in at 3 and went to bed, woke up 16 hours later...
Thanks to Tim Johnny and Des for pulling this one together much appreciated fellas.

  • Oh and andy... pump works a treat.
As does the score line :)))

Andy, I can confirm the pump does indeed work a treat, didnt get to use it but watching Shoots x 4 was enough to know...

Thanks. Shame you had to use it so much though.

    I'll ignore the bait. :-)

  • Regret bailing, looks like another TNRC win.

Will definately be in for the next TNRC deluxe.

  • Complete and total 531 ladies and gentlemen.

TNRC goes from strength to strength. I am going to have to come up with some corker excuses this season, just to stay competitive.

  • well done guys. i hope to make it next time. it sounds like the best night ever

  • it sounds like the best night ever

With all due respect, I'm going to disagree.

  • Have actually had to do some work since we got back yesterday, so first opportunity to post. My meeting input this morning was a tad blunt after about 6 hours sleep in the last two days.

That was a awesome jaunt - my favourite night ride yet. Hitting the sea front early Thursday morning had that same feel as bunking off school for the day. Massive credit to Jonny & Tim for pulling that together and Martin for leading the way through what seemed like the middle of nowhere. Riding those lanes for hours and barely seeing a car is what night rides should all be about. Excellent company all round as ever and good to see Damo and Angelo on their first TNRC outing - superb one to pick and a bold choice of gear. Bad luck on the punctures shoots, but always nice to get max value from a new purchase.

Glad to have provided the comedy fall of the evening - light failure, hit the verge and a face plant in a bed of stinging nettles. Could have been worse I suppose (gravel and barbed wire either side). Found the dock leaf provided by our resident forest survival expert when I was turfing out my pockets last night. I can confirm that their healing powers are an urban myth. As a crash story it doesn't quite have the credibility of road rash incurred in a sprint finish to the line.

More to come in June? - cant wait.

  • Hitting the sea front early Thursday morning

Fuck me, that's got to be the slowest forum ride yet.

  • Glad to hear there was a ford.

  • TNRC provisional dates

    deluxe overnight rides - 1st June 2010 ; 27th July 2010
    2nd annual awards ceremony 9th November 2010

  • hey, Tim, when are the deluxe rides and the awards ceremony gonna be?

  • hey, Tim, when is the first 2011 TNRC ride gonna be?

  • Have any of you guys done a night ride down to Hastings / St Leonards or Rye?

If not I'd be up for that, and could knock up breakfast if arrival is before any of the decent seafront cafes open.

My getting out of London navigation is appalling, but once south of Tun Wells I know some pretty decent roads...

  • Absolutely wonderful stuff on the last ride. I just tried comming all those who were on it but halfway through I got a message I hadn't had before: 'You have given out too much Reputation in the last 24 hours, try again later.' I'm starting to suffer serious ride withdrawl symptoms and this kind of self-organised overnighter in small groups is simply my favourite kind of ride. The other TNRCs are typically too early for me and also too short, too hilly and too fast. :) Wish, wish, wish I could have come along. Brilliant work, everyone.
