  • @ everyone -
bring enough food/water/battery power/clothing for the ride. this includes money for emergency route home.

    • pay attention at regroups/stops for info regarding upcoming hazards/navigation & ask for clarification if necessary.

    • be really clear when giving instructions in the above scenario.

    • tell people when you're a bit knackered, and get slotted in behind the leading rider/s i.e. be in a position to dictate the pace without having to catch the wind at the front.

There's something familiar about that post :/

  • ^ blanked you last night and i just did it then too :s

@ shoots - i'm trusting desi on the breakfast front. i don't think we'll give a sh*t after 85 miles if it is guiness or tap water

  • i don't think we'll give a sh*t after 85 miles if it is guiness or tap water

I'll remind jonny of this as we roll into town... sun in our faces... slathering for a pint : )

  • i'm trusting desi on the breakfast front.

    You sure...

Before you try to find it, learn to fucking spell it.

  • Hang on, hang on, Im only rolling with you lot 90 odd miles for the G and Oy, whats all this banter about water and not sure if etc....We will find the G and the Oy, somewhere.

  • am waivering on this

could not do the hell of the north on physios advice though looking at the profile am thinking this may be a little less stress on the knees

tough one james. be good to have you out there. but would not be good to be in the middle of nowhere in the middle of night with a rider whose knees blow. got to think of the whole group on this one. band of brothers blah blah. think on it dude

yeah... between 10 n 12 depending on a few variables*

@C/S... do we have a place in mind for our "breakfast of champions".
Suddenly dawned on me that nowhere is going to be open for G : |

i am not leaving whitstable until i have had a G. i can play the long game if need be.

  • Good luck peeps. Maximum hardman points for this ride.

  • i am not leaving whitstable until i have had a G. i can play the long game if need be.

Wish I could come along. Have fun!

  • Doubled checked on breakfast; two options - the beachfront cafe that the fnrttc uses unfortunately doesn't open until 9 during the week, but the hotel intercontinental across the road is open from 7:30. Any earlier than that and its another banana. I think the fish market gets going about 9 so oysters are a possibility. These fishing types must be able to get a beer somewhere.

  • These fishing types must be able to get a beer somewhere.

    Nice one Des.

@ Wools... See you at Victoria then ;-/

  • I'm in...

  • i think most fishing types will be out on the high sea at our time of arrival.

  • I'm in...

...bed/my wife, whilst you lot are freezing, hungry, and in the middle of nocuntingwhere.

  • Nice one Des.

    sam's garden right?

shoots - you going home from work? or you fancy some pasta in brixton with me and jonny?

  • ...bed/my wife, whilst you lot are freezing, hungry, and in the middle of nocuntingwhere.

  • ...bed/my wife, whilst you lot are freezing, hungry, and in the middle of nocuntingwhere.

Ha, I have just learned/noticed that Sarah (my wife) is not that amused and will be requiring my company on a shopping trip to Bicester factory outlet again in recompense. Maybe if the G and Oy is a myth then bed is the best place?

  • I'm in...

ooohhhhh ......just fro a moment there. but is anyone going to have a last minute change of heart and join us for the ride of the season so far?

That's the kind of potential marital rift that could need a boot as well as a patch/new tube.

  • shoots - you going home from work? or you fancy some pasta in brixton with me and jonny?

Home... Power Nap... Hour on the massage table... Pint of caffeine... Small bowl of Risotto.... Large plate of pasta... Large poo... Kit check... Roll.

See you all at the station : )

  • martin i hope and pray you are there later, but bicester shopping village. ouch!
