He's seen the glory of the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award up close and wants to get himself some of that action.

I can't wait for the TNRs to start. I don't suppose I'll actually ride many, but the thread is always lots of fun.

Oh dear, I seem to have got myself another Olmo.
(apols for the shit picture)
I actually only wanted it for the fork as mine is non-original. The bloke gave me the dimensions, it was apparently the same size as mine, but in fact is one size bigger. As this is my ideal size I really don't know what to do with it now. Frame is quite rusty in places, so will need renovating.
Since I've had my original one (7 years this summer) I've only ever seen one other like mine, in a metallic purple. Now I have two of the buggers! You can't really tell here, but it is the same colour as mine.
*posted in here as I don't really do "Bikes & Bits", apologies

Nice find. I think this thread is a legitimate place to post for the new seasons TNRC equipment.
I received my cross bike yesterday which will be my weapon of choice for this TNRC season. Added resistance for the win.

I won't be using this bike, particularly as I'm about to fit a negative rise stem to get 30mm lower at the front:
-
• #6588
30mm is quite a step. I need about 10mm more reach and maybe a 5mm drop of the bars.
Like the cap and aero helmet combo.
-
• #6589
No cap = no see through spectacles. It was quite wet. Not sure how it affects the airflow though :D
I'm hoping 30mm feels okay. I had zero back/glute/hamstring pain afterwards (thank you stretching regime), and only felt a bit sore in the lower back during the 2nd lap, into the 20mph headwind, up the 3 mile drag, at about 70rpm seated - let's face it, that's always going to hurt.
Even if it works, I'll still be on the more upright end of the TT spectrum, but then I'm more about awesome power than impeccable aeronessness :/

Nice one Sam... always good to have one more bike than you actually need.
@ Scarlett... you're gonna kill me, but a millisecond after seeing that photo, all I could see was this :

Sorry.
I've only had about 3 hours sleep. I'm a little delusional.

What distance was that, Scarlett? How did you get on?

I like the attention to detail with colour co-ordination.

Sorry.

(and I can't stop laughing)That's all I can think of as well. I totally freaked out all the clubbers staggering around town at 6.30am on Sunday whilst on my way to Waterloo.
@ Sam - It was a 13.58 mile sporting course, and I did okay. Managed a 37 - the winner did a 33. The only other fixed rider did a 42. My main aim, apart from not crashing, was to try and beat Rebecca Slack's women's course record on my 47x15, and I just managed that by 7 seconds. Also did an 18.51 / 18.52 lap split, which I was happy about.
Good training on the fixed, although next Sunday's event will probably be even tougher without gears…

I'm in for TNRC this year, the road bike is being serviced, I'm looking to show my face and legs at as many rides as you do. Keep me informed of the ins and outs, once road bike is back will get over to richmond park and do some early sat morning laps.
holding hand up in advance, ridden 35-40miles on country lanes, haven't done much pacy group riding, not sure if I'm an intermediate or beginner (this also applies to my upcoming track sessions), I'm thinking I should be alright but am willing to be told otherwise..

I'm sure you'll be fine, CB. The group is a loose-knit one. As long as people use their common sense and remain aware of what's happening around them (front, side, and rear), it usually all goes according to plan*.
*there isn't a plan
Part of the British Isles, not Great britain.
Great, Hahahahahahahaha.
