That was the Amstrad with a disc version wasn't it?
-
• #6381
Well, yes and no. It used a modified Amstrad DOS. I only had one game on disc tho, Robocop. I could complete it infinite times over. I could also do the same with Commando on the C64 until the score went wrong.
Wow, what a life I had. FML.

I had hoped not to spark a repeat of that other retro-computer thread from way back. I'm truly sorry.
-
• #6383
who really wants to read about computer games here? in this thread.
-
• #6384
Sorry.
I'll delete and take my badly remembered nostalgia elsewhere. -

What's done is done. shoots started it, and I took the bait. shoots is the one at fault. shoots is to blame. Kill him.

Regarding the first of the new 2011 TNRC routes, I'll need my research findings peer-reviewed by STE5, but initial sensations were beautiful (EuroProSpeak).
This is a deceptively hard ride (see 'tell us about your weekend ride' thread), but it was fucking windy out there today.
Within 20 minutes of leaving mystery destination station, I thought I'd ridden into a golden age, a theory immediately consolidated by the apparition of a lone racing tricyclist. I mean FFS, joggers even smiled and said hello to us in this utopian alternative reality.
TNRC 'elders' (is there anyone who isn't middle-aged in the TNRC?) will be required very shortly for a nocturnal reccy…

Ok I reckon the 'bumpy' clue means Tring, although onomatapoeically amusing, is a bit too Ouse Valley to be right. Reckon the smart money's on King's Langley, Berkhamstead or Hemel Hempstead to get into some Chiltern-shaped honesty.
Look out for a fine row of magnificent horse chestnuts alongside Berkhamstead station, a sight to behold in bloom. Let's hope the new lurgy hasn't got them. I hope TNRC will join me in making 2011 a year of arboricultural appreciation from the saddle.
Oh, and I'm bloody annoyed about those shitty lights.
-
• #6395
What shitty lights?
-
• #6396
Oh sorry... From a couple a pages back, a ref to 'Skully' lights.
-
• #6397
I see [/due to decent lights, etc].
It's more 'draggy' than 'bumpy', but without the negative connotations of the word… although the drags are fucking brutal. They could really blow the group wide apart. Will need careful shepherding. There is probably little more than a few hundred metres of genuine flatness on the ride.
And well done, Miss Marple, you have identified the correct station amongst your multiple answers.

• #6398
off to Babylon and Tring

Oh sorry... From a couple a pages back, a ref to 'Skully' lights.
I've got a pair of Skully lights, really. I like them.

We're not going to T(r)ing, DJ.
For the record, there were some bold displays of officiousness amongst London Midland staff. Decorum will be required if we're to avoid having our progress thwarted by rail operatives.
I had a C64.
