  • @ damo - finger pic. give me a number and i'll text it to you. i will put it on here tomorrow evening if you like. How did that happen BTW?

  • Tip top TNRC, great weather and as great vibe.

Nice new faces and nice old ones.

    Cheers all.

  • there's a city somewhere north of london that is known for it's gardens. that city goes by the name of wellyn. thankfully we don't spend more than 5 minutes in it as it's a shit hole but it's the start of a great ride. oh yeah and mashton spent some time there too, he's like WGC's most famous inhabitant

  • I was in the loo during your 'presentation', Sam, but you might have heard me providing the musical accompaniment: a muted vuvuzela piece interpreted by my arsehole. Got home to find out that Tynan had been up late, unable to sleep due to stomach pains, so it's definitely a family affair.

I thought it was a weird one, but the insular ones usually are. I appreciated being able to do a bit of solo riding tonight, safe in the knowledge that I wasn't really on my own.

@claus - thanks for the usual bouts of cut and thrust
@dj - it's the kind of stuff that temporarily improves your eyesight (not talking about taking a sabbatical from wanking)
@the arsonist: yes, I thought it was pretty, and I liked the anti-advertising connotations; but you were still a fucking nutter.

  • sort of what like robbie williams is to port vale (does that place exist?)

  • as always tnrc reminds me of the simple joy of being out with friends on bikes

thank you all so much, a great bunch of people, lovely scenery, some hair raising descents, some arduous climbs and as ever great banter

  • I agree with Sam, one of the best ever!
Everything smooth, we roll the 5 hills in two hours; and it seems that everyone knew what to do without no one saying.
What a lovely riding when you know the route.... actually I'm considering to move in Surrey and start save some money on trains.... if you know what i mean...

Big props to clintsmoker for put this together and everyone else who was there doing the job.

    DJ:)

  • Sounds nasty Scarlett, hope you and the boy are better soon.

  • smells much worse though sam. did you see those firemen reach for the gas masks after the fire was extinguished?

  • I think I might've found a comfty saddle for the road bike (a freebie from a ridgeback hybrid thingy) in desperate attempt to find anything suitable for the DD, another TNRC next week I assumed?

really want to go back to the hill of Surrey again, love it when I was studying in Farnham.

  • £499.99 for the pista frameset is pretty good value, IMO. £1799.99 for the Ti one is very much not.

The tubing is triple butted as oppose to the cheap plain gauge ti you can get for £750-850, or the butted one for £1000+.

I thought for a moment that I was about to watch a guy creaming up.

  • I think I might've found a comfty saddle for the road bike (a freebie from a ridgeback hybrid thingy) in desperate attempt to find anything suitable for the DD, another TNRC next week I assumed?

Don't think so, it's normally every two weeks.

  • A magnificent ride out. It was so beautiful. Wspecially the last climb, with the moon and the views. Shame my lungs were popping out and legs not working correctly.

    Nicely tired today.

    Cheers everyone.

  • Lovely time and a great contrast in terrain to the fortnight before's ride (although smiles were definitely all about in both)...lovely company and great times

  • Clints: just chuck it up on here. it can be a useful reminder not to fuck around with chains, cogs etc. when trying to do chain tension.

Edscoble: cross thread pollination, but if you want to get out into the hills again this weekend check the sstc thread. i won't be going, but Marcom will be leading.

  • Thank you all. Metrics.

  • a muted vuvuzela piece interpreted by my arsehole.

    haha gold

  • sort of what like robbie williams is to port vale (does that place exist?)

He's from Burslem. As are Port Vale.

  • Port Vale. not a real place.
    like milton keynes.

  • I'm sure mashton would be proud of the comaprison...real or not..he's a legend in WGC. in fact there were many of us who began to think mashton was a figment of our collective imaginations until he finally tipped up on a ride ;)

  • ...
    next stop WGC

Cool, this route is flippin great! Going to have to make sure I make it.

Port Vale. not a real place.
    like milton keynes.

  • Coincidence Alert

claus discovered that he'd snapped a spoke last night, after rattling his way towards Whitedown.

On the previous TNRC, I'd heard a loud metal snapping type noise, thought I'd ridden over something, hadn't, filed the noise away in the 'unexplained' drawer; span back wheel this morning to see the kind of wobble only ever explained by a snapped spoke.

Luckily I've got a few spares knocking around (CX Ray, init), but it's a first for me. Goes to show just how fucking hardcore we do our bike-based rolling on Tuesday nights. Well, me and claus at least.

If it happens another time, I'll try not to ride away from you all so easily on Ranmore, and one of you fucks can point out my wobbly rear wheel, thanks very much for nothing please.

Next fortnight's list will be going up soon(ish)…
