I'm on a right downer today. What goes up must come down. I'm blaming the TNRC and everyone involved. It's a poison, but it doesn't come with Kool Keith to remedy the situation.
I could take a ton of drugs right now.
Go for a ride, at night, if possible on a Tuesday, solves a lot of uncommon issues...

^from concerned parents?
I just got age-checked when buying beer. "How old are you?" followed, after a pause, by "what's your date of birth then?" She was probably about my age, FFS. Anyway, result :D
Is this what BikeSnob meant by 'indeterminate age'? jonny - do you need to carry ID these days?

^^ age check? that's ridiculous

I know. I nearly laughed. I had a cap on, but still.
There seems to be some weird cross-cultural age perception thing. The whites - some of whom are my best friends, but… - might knock 5 years off, possibly 10 if they're pissed or judge you on your clothes/attitude; but 20+years failing to register in the eyes of a number of shop-staff and work colleagues over the years, from various warmer climes.
However, have you seen the state of some of our peers in the 35-45 age bracket? It's amazing how much being an uptight repressed breadhead no imagination rat race drone can erode the veneer of youth.
Thought for the day :/

most whites - i have a white housemaid and she's really friendly - are fucked by 35. combo of poor diet, lack of any exercise whatsoever, chicken soup complexion and some of that stuff you mentioned about rat races etc. makes us look good though so i don't mind.
btw - where is that shop ? we could go in whenever we needed a moral boost -

BMMF isn't so much youthful as unwrinkled after a lifetime of refusing to pander to emotion.
-
• #2260
You can't just pander willy-nilly.

2009 - oliver figures 108 - 2 . pretty impressive stats 54 per ride
Thought so.
Can't wait to go on a TNRC, and I promise that when I can do long rides again I'll organise a long-distance overnighter or two if there's demand. The Whitstable one totally surprised me as it broke the mould and I would have been on that one like a shot normally.

agreed

I'm an uptight, repressed breadhead rat race clone, with a severe lack of imagination. But I also ride a bike. It seems to even out.

^nah, that just sounds like low self-esteem.

This is brilliant^.
So is the E for Ecstasy route, Scarlet. I had a lovely gentle run, and got lost a bit, trying to do it with a pal yesterday. The Eastern loop in particular. I could just ride round and round and round that bit. Nice one.

... and saw a really funny thing on a tiny narrow lane, which had uneven soft verges either side.
We rolled up to see a beat up vauhall in a mexican standoff with a Bugatti Veyron (with french plates)... the Veyron diver was in the process of very politely asking the vauxhall to make enough room for him to pass without having to roll off the tarmac, as he was worried about clearances. We couldn't help wonder what the fuck he was doing driving around High Beeches in that thing.

Tuesday 22nd June Surrey Hills http://www.bikemap.net/route/282540#lat=51.21936&lng=-0.3804&zoom=11&type=2
train times: 19:09 and 19:33 london waterloo usually from platforms 2/3
This is hilly and hard. approx 32 miles. If you have never ridden this route before or have never ridden TNRC before then don't hesitate to ask us for the low down and info about being prepared. Last few TNRC rides have worked well. This should be a good one as the hills are always a pleasure to ride and it is near enough the longest day. let's get a list going. just write down if you will be train or ride out. after that we'll divide the trains into two and more info will be added about trains home and lights etc.
