Are we actually ending in a beach with a sea where to swing?

last time the weather was terrible, well typical seaside england in the summer weather, it concluded with inhalation of fish and chips (which were near the sea front) and then a quick turn around to go to a pub.

Yeah, southend as far as my memory serves me isn't really a beach, there's quite a high sea wall and the water comes right up to it at high tide I think. It might be nicer at Leigh-on-Sea, about a mile west of Southend pier. But it's basically the Thames Estuary. Not very nice.

There are these shacks that sell shellfish at Leigh. Could be a good alternative to inhaling FnC. All a bit cockles n mussels (n whelks) alive aliveo for my taste, I'm more of a langoustine man.
