  • what did they say?

  • not started yet.

  • fairly predictable.

  • from the guy from TFL heading up the project:
"they show cyclists where they should be on the road"

    BOOOOM

  • "the lanes are only 1.5m wide."
"It's not just about infrastructure, we're providing...." a whole load of other nothing proposals to "encourage" businesses to "encourage" employess etc etc

I used to feel quite strongly about this, now I just don't care, since I've learned to ride in the traffic. Unpleasant, but necessary. People just need to get on the bike.

  • Just been on it from Tooting.. its a bit crap tbh, loads of traffic & cars parked in the cycle lane.
this is boris's big idea? what a load of shit

Yes, that was unfortunate. He really meant it regarding the direction they should be traveling if they wanted to follow the "superhighway" I'm sure.

I'd like to see the blue stripe decorated with graffiti like on the roads on tour stages, things like "viva hippy" and "go murtle" and "we love you teenslain" and "fuck off lynx" all those popular sayings.

I remember when it was all just roads...

  • ...and road were just plenty enough to ride your bike.

  • Pictures of the super(?)highway between Tooting Bec and Balham. Yeah.

my personal favourite is the continuous line...
(I need to add that the pics were taken on Saturday evening when cars are allowed to park on the red route).

  • my personal favourite... who's this handsome chap?

A vision of Jesus blessing the Superhighways! Everything is going to be alright!

  • cough he is frowning.

  • He is frowning! Wonderful!

  • Vee you seem to be missing something..can't quite put my finger on it....

  • In Training for the Lollypop Lady Olympic event?

  • Walking in the road is very dangerous Veevee, especially when you are on a CYCLE SUPERHIGHWAY!!!

  • Jim's right, you could get taken out by a nodder at any moment!

  • ha!

  • I got one of the blue gravel thingies fly in my face this morning, lucky I had my sunglasses on. Loose blue gravel flying everywhere...

  • Rode past as they were painting last night - smells horrible! They were using some seriously industrial masking tape to make their "straight" lines....

  • It's grim to ride on when it's fresh - loose blue shit flies everywhere. Seeing a lot more painting lorries on the Merton-City route now, I think they are about to do the Oval/Kennington Road bit which should be entertaining.. I also saw what looked like some sort of road/path being created on the Walworth/Kennington E& C roundabout this morning - not sure what (if anything) is going on there..

  • It's nasty to skid on that blue, though the newly painted loose bits add a bit of excitement.

  • blue rhymes with poo

  • They are digging up the bus lane between Magee St and Kennington Road at the moment (is it for the cycle hire docking station, rather than blue road?), which they've kindly timed with digging up the middle of KPR too, so turning left on to Kennington Road is now particularly grim if you've got a bus that doesn't give a shit to your right, a squashing waiting to happen.
