  • dats bare jokes bruv get me

  • Sweet. Off you go Brown. Time for a change. No ID cards, that's good enough for me

The recession ended any possibility of an ID card system long ago did it not?

In many ways the recession was a good slap-in-the-face type reality check. Without it would Obama be the president of the USA?

Our government (whoever that is) has to focus on basic stuff like economy instead of taking away civil liberties due to an imagined threat of terrorism or whatever.

  • LCB has spoken...

    ;-)

  • What a fucking cunt...

    correction, Right Honourable Cunt

  • ^ further earlier posts.... I've had a drink, and it doesn't look a great deal better...... I've decided that Radio 3 turned up really loud is the way forward, and if I ignore all forms of mass media, and stick my fingers in my ears and go La La La La.... it'll all be better in the morning........Hic!

  • So, does this mean that Phil Collins is moving back to Blighty?

    pm's tynan

  • Phil Collins?! That's the only reason anyone voted Labour in the first place! Jesus.

  • Yeah 4 Dave! (and Nick)

  • One good thing about this new government is George Osborne. I can't think of a politician in power who will be a better source of comedy material.

  • I hope this means the labour party can swing back to the left.

  • So, does this mean that Phil Collins is moving back to Blighty?

where can you get that amazing leon print from?

  • where can you get that amazing leon print from?

From the same tonne of shops selling tacky prints of get carter and scarface

That ianucci time trumpet was top

  • So to sum up:

Libs commit political suicide by going into coalition with a party that their voters don't like, without a guarantee of PR (except the House of Lords - not sure how that will work out). Labour's time in the wilderness made much more fun by watching the two other parties wield the axe on public services and bickering about everything else, all while receiving floods of traditional LD voters.

And Michael Gove becomes Home Secretary. Fuck.

  • election in 2015.

Who wants to bet they'll be one before 2012?

  • Difficult to say really. The coalition is currently 37 beyond an overall majority which means that a lot of MPs would have to cross the floor. The next condition is infighting and I think that the Cons won't rock the boat and LD are going to avoid getting into stuff they aren't appointed to unless the Cons start falling short on the deal. The only other scenarios I can envisage would be a major meltdown in public order or the Cons deciding they are now popular enough to take 19 more seats. Neither of which are that likely.

  • And Michael Gove becomes Home Secretary. Fuck.

Looks like Theresa May, a little less fuck.

  • Looks like Theresa May, a little less fuck.

    Plenty fuck

  • Plenty fuck

Still not nearly as much fuck as Gove.

  • it seems strange that the lib dems are banging on about proportional representation but dont seem to mind being over represented in the cabinet

  • it seems strange that the lib dems are banging on about proportional representation but dont seem to mind being over represented in the cabinet

I don't get it. There are about 20 positions in the primary cabinet. The LD's have about a quarter of the vote and currently 3 cabinet positions with another 2 expected. How is that over representation?

Edited to add that they currently have 3 out of 11 positions with one undersecretarial place for Cable. This is still hardly out of the realms of PR and given that the Cons have practically no representation in Scotland is it surprising that this job was given to a Dem from the off?

  • ...or the Cons deciding they are now popular enough to take 19 more seats.

They were planning on changng several constituency boundaries, which is thought effectively give them around 10 seats. But that's all out in the open

  • Personally I can't wait to see George Osborne fucking up, he's been locked up in a cupboard for the entire run in but here he is, our saviour, St. George. Sorry, I really can't stand the guy, is there anyone who ever landed a bigger gig than this guy? Just for being "mates" with that Cameron.
