And look where he got!

That's why it's funny. Thieves rolled by and decided it wasn't worth the effort it'd take to pedal away.

^ no, no. It's all about the psychology of the matter. At a cursory glance, it looks to be locked. People probably assumed it was.
Still, stupid beyond comprehension.

Ha^
Quick release as well...
facepalm
don't forget about the mudguard, you'd need to rip it off or have an allen bolt ready.
still a shitty way to lock your bike mind.

I'm in berlin now, and it makes me sad to think of this thread, seeing that most people here have very little problems with just locking the wheels quickly and go into a shop etc. Maybe not for an expensive racer, but for normal bikes for sure.
Feels like it should always be that way. So much wrong about how in the UK cycling comes with all these hassles. -

New to the site, but the pictures in this thread are sad, tragic and hilarious at the same time.

With stuff like this do you take the bike for safekeeping, leaving a note, or leave it for the sorry silly sod to get his/her bike nicked?
This was spotted by a friend in Glasgow. It was still there at the end of the day!

Visited Copenhagen recently - bike riding there is at the heart of town planning/culture.
The part I liked the most was that most bikes appeared to be left unlocked and more
importantly not stolen. Its not possible to imagine this in London. -

gangstars wise in london scenes like these can be seen, but undercloser inspection it is a cold winters day and they're just young men huddling for warmth. You can tell it's cold by there clothes.
Fixed?....

Unfortunately, theift is actually a major problem especially at the moment as there are gangs going around and picking up 5 or 6 bikes at a time and throwing them in the back of vans and walking off. This is possible because bikes are rarely locked to anything and just use immobiliser locks on the back wheel.

Looks like they had the decency to leave some tissue for the owner of that bike to dry their tears at least...

haha i was there last week! the trend of gangs comes from stockholm aswell, apparently gangs of "eastern europeans" from across "the baltic" come and do it.. copenhagen and stockholm are the same in the fact that no one lock their bikes, bar the immobiliser sometimes haha, was going to take pictures for this thread, but wouldnt have caught the plane home a week later.. copenhagen is a bit of a wierd place, danish people are strange, i still rate it though, great city!

Hound used for biting through D-Locks, hound can't operate with baklava (too many sweet things and they lose the desire to bite).

They sure are, been there recently and babies are left outside cafe's/Bars totally unattended in their prams. Kind of cool, but would be recieving a call from social services in most other places.
