good advice in there tho, but i hate how he pulls on the nyc chain and bangs it against the frame, i see that done with mine and i'd come flying in to kick your head off your shoulders.*

    ...coz i love my bike!

*not really, but it made me feel better to say that out loud.

  • ^with the same lock i might ad

  • leave that bianchi locked up at night it might get pinched. Got to know what ur doing 2 get through that abus

  • I saw some brilliant locking outside london bridge today. A hybrid locked with a d-lock and crappy cable lock. Locked only through the spokes with the cable around a lampost...

    a thirty second job.

all you need to know is how to handle a battery driven angle grinder for about 10 seconds.

My key snapped in mine, had to get a locksmith out. He was through it in less than 10 secs, didn't even have time to get my camera out.

  • saw the charge al a spok on broadway market today, couldn't help but laugh

  • This one caught my eye today outside work, only really noticed because of the bare chain...

  • Theres a Bianchi Pista witha rear spok that i keep seeing outside CSM. Locked with just an ev mini, roudn the spok and 1 seat stay, to a single railing. Not exactly horrendous locking, but optimistic I'd say!

it's how i usualy lock my bike minus even seat stay. as per this or are you describing something diff?

  • and it was still there when you left? fool!

Although i did something similar outside BC once, v. embarrasing... never again. I'd rather spend 5 minutes locking my bike proper than looking like a muppet again.

  • that specialized is incredible. how retarded do you have to be? thats mean to retards.

yea i know the sheldon method, its is also locked onto one of the seatstays. Its more the fact its locked onto 1cm bit of iron railing with just an evo mini. A lot of money to rely on just that lock + shitty railing.

Theres also some NJS thingy, all tarted up, which is locked always by just the toptube with a NY 3000, why not put one of the wheels in! WHY!?!?

  • i love this

YouTube- Beat The Thief: How to protect your bike against thieves

If i lived in London i wouldn't be as worried about my bike getting nicked as i would be about this guy coming round, clanging the lock off my frame, knocking my bike over and slapping and hitting bits of my bike.

I remember, the locking method is sound, unfortuantely, the railing wasn't, a quick saw with a hacksaw will render the lock useless.

the NJS thingy you mean the pink Bridgestone? or the white Level? the only time I seen the latter was when it's summer and warm.

there are some idiot in CSM.

  • Much conversation on this thread and the Pashley Guvnor about the soundness (or not) of the Sheldon method.

I am still a believer but will probably change my mind when my bike gets nicked by someone cutting through my rim, a la GA2G's dire warning.

    YMMV folks.

  • ironically, that ^ fits in this thread just perfect.

  • saw the charge al a spok on broadway market today, couldn't help but laugh

Saw her on the critical mass today, had to stop myself from telling her how to lock up a bike properly (she was with friends and didn't want to embarrass her).

  • Coppithat uses handcuffs

I'm not interested in you private lives, guys.

  • after the last time i saw the guy locking up and told him to lock it properly..... why do some people not learn?? not my problem anymore as were all off to uni in sept, but im sure in a big city his bike wont last long

  • That is an awesome seat.

  • I'm sure that mud guard will stop even the most determined thief.

  • not with such a nice seat.
