Agree. I end up putting it parallel with the wall and covering 2 or 3 of the spaces so I can lock straight to the frame.

I thought there was something wrong with this but it's now survived 24 hours on the mean streets of London Town despite hanging off the cyclehoop literally* screaming 'steal me'. Guess those flimsy looking mudguards must be stronger than they appear.
*in the contemporary sense
