  • definitely

  • stupid saddle angle & flat pedals on the somec hint at the rider not knowing its worth.

I am one to talk though, I also have flat pedals on my road bike.

  • that somec was not bought off the forum?

  • every picture tells a story

  • ^that's been there for ages

  • Classic

  • ^ hahahahaha

  • Is that also one of those signs telling people to use 2 locks to lock frame and wheels? 'HaHa!' even without. But excellent bonus if it is.

  • I reckon I could bite through that cable...

  • Not that you would need to...

  • 6pm edgeware road.. tempting.

  • depressing

  • That's horrendous.

  • I'm willing to bet the rider was right there. That's the sort of lock you take on a big ride to stop someone from simply riding away on the bike while you sit and have a breather.

Think he was in the grocery shop behind.. but not really the sort of bike you take to do your weekly shop on.

Eitherway he was more than 10 seconds away.. which is all I would have needed.

  • Grabs popcorn and moves to stolen bikes thread....... the inevitability is unreal!

  • Yeah - if he was out of sight of it then he's nuts.

  • I've got one of those for my snowboard and also for longer rides with mates so we can cable our bikes together if you're at a pub and not quite close enough to run and stop a casual opportunist thief.

Still, I'm not sure I'd use it to go into a shop unless it was right outside and the till was by the window.

  • This makes me sad, that you can't even pop into a shop for 30 seconds without bolting your bike to the floor... bikejacking will be next.

  • when i was about 12 a kid i went to school with genuinely got bike jacked for his BMX

  • Sickening... by other kids I take it, but still sickening.

  • bikejacking already happens, no? there's a thread about it somewhere

  • There was a spate of bikejackings a while back in DeBeauveoir. Perps got nabbed though.

  • In Manchester a mate of mine stopped at the lights, and a 12 year old stepped over his top tube, and started pushing him off the back yelling 'fuck off!'.

My mate stepped off the back. Then thought 'hang on. Thats my bike'.
