Ways not to lock your bike

Obviously doesn't have a clue how to set up his bike...yet, but the locking isn't to bad, he's thought it through at least, followed some guide somewhere, D-locked the frame, cable around both wheels and saddle.

How the fuck has he not succumbed to a chucking off with a chain that slack?!

Who would bother to use SPDs with a chain that slack, and dildo bars.

Perhaps there is someone out there who sneaks up to bikes and adds extra links to the chain while the hipster isn't looking?

That is kind of confusing me. How could it have been locked where they had to cut the spokes to get the frame? Or were they just stealing the rear hub too?

Ways not to lock in Brooklyn Heights

To be fair, that is a sensible way to lock your bike. Most people do not expect thieves to remove the fork, they are right most of the time. Even in the case of good bikes.

But I think this one was left a little too long (flat tyre) which prompted people to start scavenging.

Or it was abandoned after the front end was nicked.

They've self-destructed and the cages have fallen off, leaving the axle. That thief has very low aspirations.

my girlfriend locked her bike so well outside the Whitechapel gallery today that the theives got pissed off and yanked the bike so hard they nearly snapped and bent the down tube, so turns out even locking your bike well doesn't mean you're safe, scum! A trip to Oak Cycles for a repair is in order.

tbh I'm not worried about my bike getting stolen but I worry that some cunt will just destroy it when they realise they can't steal it.
