  • Ha!

  • nope, it was found with 2 hours and within a mile of where it was stolen from

But then he steals it back and takes a poo on your lock. 'I double fucking dare you...' etc, dangerous game.

  • I guess phoning the police, seeing them show and give thief a bollocking/fine not satisfying enough?

They're as much use as a Disprin canoe over here, but supposedly some areas they actually go after bike thieves.

  • The to fucker that stole my brooks and seat post this evening, Fuck you.

To the gentleman on the train (because my saddle was stolen) this evening who consoled my loss, thank you.

  • Should have used ball bearings.

Best place to buy seat post sized ball bearings?

  • a 27.2 mm bearing would be quite large

big talk from a man who sounds like he hasn't been using ball bearings

  • skrtluv.

stop posting stupid shit all over the place

An Atomic 22 bolt is a lot better than a ball bearing, although admittedly also a lot more expensive. You can get ball bearings in small quantities off eBay but some hardware shops might have them.

Remember you'll need to block off the seatpost rail clamp bolt(s) as well as the clamp bolt in the frame (and that it would still be quite easy to saw the post and deal with the bolts later). Brooks saddles are a nightmare in London tbh. Total theft magnet.

  • And weirdly Brooks in NYC, every one I saw (i saw loads!) were not chained down or locked.

  • Nothing weird about it at all if you ask me. Good quality saddles as they may be, personally I wouldn't want to own let alone ride one, if you paid me for it. Mind, not being the thieving kind, I haven't taken the resale value into consideration.

  • I've been wondering recently why I never hear of bike hubs getting stolen. Surely taking some wire cutters to a few spokes to steal eg. a phil wood hub would be pretty limited effort?
    Am I missing something here?

  • Losing your eyes when the spokes fly off might put people off.

Just bought a PW wheelset... if my fucking hubs go missing at least I'll know where to go.

  • coz venn diagram of
    (scumbags who would steal)
    does not overlap [yet?] with
(people who would appreciate nice hubs)

  • There's one photo of a bike that had been striped, but still had omniums on, even though they only take one bolt to remove

    French bike?

  • There was a photo of a bike tha had both it's hubs stolen, if memory serves me correctly it was in a French or Swiss tournament thread on the polo thread.
