  • Outcast is pretty good, if you like good vs. evil demonic possession shenanigans. It'll get optioned for a Netflix series any year now.

I've also started The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, only read 3 issues, let's see if I stick with it.

  • it wasn't very good.

  • Latest Marvel comic is on topic

  • it's about time they got CB in the movies. only if it's Danny Dyer or gtfo, mind.

  • Recently I have been enjoying:
Batman Who Laughs - spin off from the Metal series arc (Alternative world Batman/ Joker hybrid character, quite evil and good at it, trying to destroy all worlds)
Batman, Last Knight on Earth - Scott Snyder and Greg Capulo last Batman colab, which is a shame because I loved their work.
Dark Knight 3 - Frank Millar latest in the Old Man Batman saga, much better than DKSA, not as good as DKR (but better art as FM didn't do it)

Alien 3 - based off an unmade screenplay by William Gibson, quite good, only 5 issues (my LCS couldn't get No3, so I've ended up with the hardcover Trade)

Plenty of the ongoing stuff too (Paper Girls is drawing to an end, sob)

  • Paper Girls finale was great.

I wasn't gonna get House/Powers of X but I caved and so far am glad I did.

  • Any old school Marvel fans though?

Got this Silver Surfer Action Hour cel. Comic sized.

I will send this for a fair-sized forum donation (not pennies). Seems to sell for around £15 on ebay depending on the day of the week.

  • Any recommendations on where to buy vintage comics online?
Thinking about buying some classics to keep (trying to get a The Killing Joke collection, would like to start with green print 1st edition)
Ebay is too much of a minefield.

I will have a chat with my LCB dealer next time I am in there to see if he can help.

  • In London 30th Century Comics are cheapest. Over Putney Bridge way. But online too. Dunno if they’re open atm but their stuff is as described. Loads of stock too. I live near Krypton Komics and they’re too expensive. I’m buying 60/70’s DC stuff.

  • I'll check it out, cheers

  • 30thCC was a winner, 1st print of Batman: The Killing Joke went online about a week ago.
They are running a strange setup for these strange times and send out invoices on Sundays for payment and delivery details.

  • Yes I’ve picked up the first Teen Titans, Batwoman and other gems there cheap. They have a massive basement full of stuff too. Worth a visit when they reopen.

  • Slippery slope this comics malarkey.

Took delivery of the 1st print Batman The Killing Joke last week, now i have just ordered Batman 426-429, the original run of Batman - Death in the Family (famously had a phone poll to decide the fate of Jason Todd, Robin at the time)
Might have to start seriously considering long term storage solutions and perhaps taking better care of my existing collection.

  • That phone poll was fixed by a guy with an automatic dialling machine/set-up if urban myth/the internet is to be believed...

  • Fallen in to the Death Metal saga.
Can't not buy Scott Snyder Batman stories, he is great, coupled with Greg Capulo doing to art Chefs Kiss

Its more insane than the Metal series (Dr Batmanhatten and Batmanasaurus Rex are particularly inspired)

  • Anyone interested in these? Free to a good home pending a donation to the forum? Collection ideally from.sw9 or postage at cost

  • Sure, I'll take those

  • managed to get to my LCBS, and it was a spendy visit.

Now have the full Joker Wars Batman arc, Three Jokers series, loads of Death Metal one shots, plus my regular stuff (Undiscovered Country, Oblivion Song, Moonshiners) and the new Rorschach (origin?) story.
Will keep me well occupied for the lockdown.

  • I use photocopier paper boxes with gorilla tape around the box and lid. You can store 100 bagged and carded comics in each and they are stackable.
Went into Gosh in Soho ( I bought loads in the 80’s when they were near the British Museum) last week and picked up a Neal Adams 1969 Detective. They’re getting expensive to fill the gaps nowadays.
Batman, Detective and Brave & Bold with Joker are always expensive.

  • Scored some more dark age originals, complete set of Watchmen from 86/87.

All seem in pretty good condition, but not got them out of the bags.
Not super rare, but nice to have in my collection.

  • Anyone know if you can buy CGC-style comic slabs/ hard display cases?
I have some comics I'd like to display, but not specifically worth sending for grading.

  • I'm working my way through Samurai Jack on All 4 at the moment. Really enjoying the Hellboy vibes.
