Is it still on? The guy's pretty fricking good. Is there an award he hasn't won?

I think it finished at the end of September.

It's available for hire from spring 2013 - so there's a chance it'll be at a venue somewhere. As vague as that at the mo.

Fingers crossed.

Oh, and rewinding a moment, would Jurek care to expand on his reference to vandalism in the mid-1960s? The man himself would presumably have been at infants school at the time, so I have an image of a miniature mod running riot in Norbury...

It was trashed, I forget the exact year in which this happened, but yes, I was a primary school sprog at the time and quite shocked, I tell you, that anyone could wreak such havoc (the sundial pedestal was cleft in twain, in addition to much of the rest of the gardens having been trashed). Whilst looking (unsuccessfully) for interweb reference to this incident I stumbled across the fact that towards the end of 2011 thieves had pinched the (presumably) bronze dial for its scrap value. Meh!
I've since talked to my Mum and my Sis about this incident.
Both of them remember it with varying degrees of accuracy.
Neither remember me being involved.
I was about 9 ffs :) -

Right, so after the wettest ride I've had in ages, I present old and new tags.
Old:
Rolling Bridge, behind Paddington Station.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rolling_BridgeNew! Some might say it's designed quite grandly.

Ha! Xander posted that on his fb wall about an hour about, did you see him?

^The thumb is the new shoe
I was wittering on about Thomas Heatherwick quite a lot on ride of ride, quite a big fan, and yes the V&A exhibition was top. If you get to the bridge at midday on Fridays, you can watch it open. Here's a speeded up version, at the expense of Brunel: -

• #9765
not yet, I think it mightn't be necessary
-
• #9766

-
• #9767
I think there's a Grand Designs connection there?

Katie-Cloo?

There's a bath under the bed in that house, which I thought was quite cool. Or am I misremembering? There are windows operated by gas struts from a landrover or something. And a dimmable window!

If no-one's got it by this evening I'll clarify something that will help
-
• #9773
This is like a scene in a terrible sitcom where the wife suspects the husband of being up to no good and questions every phrase. "He said he will 'clarify something'. What did he mean by that? "

I have a few hours free and really want to play, no idea where it is mind
Yeah - it's a bit of a hidden gem. Not what you would expect in Streatham.
It used to be a Spa and people would come to take the waters, renowned for there medicinal and healing properties. I would not recommend that now.
re the new tag - did anyone see the recent exhibition? It was amazing. Completely in awe of his talent.
