... if you're not beaten to it, by someone doing the last tag, and a new one of their own. :)

Last time round assuming it is one and the same.

why the big fuss aout re-tags? The game evolves naturally, people join in and stop playing gradually, so the people playing now were not the same group as this time last year or even earlier. So why does it matter if it's been done before (unless it was really recent maybe)? I think t just gives people who've seen it before a bit of an advantage. Plus the pic will generally be from a different angle surely so not technically of the same thing

so ... the first person to retag the old tag and post up a new tag, or go tag the current tag and post up a new tag, becomes king/queen of the tag until such time as someone else finds the new tag and posts up a newer tag.
kapish?

I think you've answered your own question here.
Seriously tho, if you get away with it them fair enough. BQ's Leake St wasn't called until after it was revealed so there can't really be a complaint. The new one being called straight away indicates that it is too recent or well known so perhaps shouldn't stand.
As you say, the game is evolving, and this is a test for the viability of the new mutation.

Nicely done!
Is it an Olympic venue?

Too many clues already!
Nice new tag!

The most northerly tag on the map has been repositioned correctly (it was in the middle of Enfield Town park beforehand)

Old tag: Horseguards. A very good riposte, Villa Ru, to the doubters of your original tag.
If this part of Whitehall is really going to be used as an Olympic venue? then what event?
Green welly-wanging?New tag: in accord with tomorrow's London's famous...ride, http://www.lfgss.com/thread79553.html#post2765762
this tag is underscored by a hidden river.

hmm. the highrise modernist building in the top left corner must be a clue..

Well done John.
Yes - Horseguards is the venue for Olympic beach volleyball.

For the record, Villa Ru's disputed tag hadn't been done before:
It is Clayton Street, off Kennington Oval to the Eastof the cricket stadium whereas OneLessCardigan's (?) tag was on Kennington Oval to the West of the stadium. Different location = different tag in my view.
But yes, same ex-military stretchers re-cycled as railings.

As played by Pamela Anderson types? There must be a reason why you knew this and I didn't, Ru.
:)hmm. the highrise modernist building in the top left corner must be a clue..
There are some Dubai-styled buildings in the background which I struggled to keep out of view which would be give-aways.

Nice one Dropout for doing both, and great new tag! And my apologies to Villa Ru for pointing the finger. Looks like I got my comeuppance last night when trying to recreate the Horseguards photo:
the text is a little difficult to work out, more or less as follows:
SUSPECT SEEN ACTING
SUSPICIOUSLY ON HORSE GUARDS PARADE
SUSPECT WAS SEEN TO DUMP A PUSH
CYCLE AND WALK OFF AND APPEARED TO
BE STANDING AND CROUCHING BEHIND THE BOLLARD
NO OFFENSES DISCLOSED, NO TRACE, ONE
SATISFACTORY STOP -

this is hilarious! what on earth was the reaction when you explained what you were doing?

The officer didn't really understand bike tag, in his words, 'it's a bit weird'.
It was ok when there was just one officer, but very shortly after 2 police motorcycles and 2 red police people carriers turned up. Then they asked 'have you ever been arrested before' (stressing before) and started checking for a criminal record. I was mostly thinking please don't search my bag as I had detailed laminated print outs of Scoot's MI6 Furnival St for tomorrow's ride.
I wasn't planning on doing the tag, but just happened to be passing and thought might as well, but seriously, what was I thinking?!

Red police people carriers. You triggered the diplomatic response unit. I guess you were a bit close to Downing Street and other ceremonial and official buildings.

What was the crouching behind a bollard part all about?
Sort of reminds me of this, though it's not hugely relevant:

My camera was on the bollard as I didn't have a tripod and it needed a few seconds, this was was the photo:
In retrospect, it was very stupid, knowing what's round there. But also quite funny too.

I'm not sure, it might look a bit strange to a passer-by but it's not as if taking arty photos is unheard of. And that is a really nice picture. At least they didn't actually arrest you in the end.

• #6650
Yes, in the end it was just a stop without the search so it was OK.
I triggered a Diplomatic Response Unit eh? oh geez.
Apologies - will sort somewhere new, with decent pic, later on.
