Well done C3K, the photography does it way more justice. Credit to SRBradley for sleuthing the 'long pole' link too
Summary for those that like history/architecture:
Catherine Tylney-LONG married William POLE-Wellesley in 1812. She was heiress to this Palladian mansion in Wanstead and the richest woman in England, he was the debt-ridden nephew of the Duke of Wellington.
By 1822 the money had dried up, the house was demolished and sold for bricks, leaving only the Grotto, ornamental lakes and Temple, still visible today. They fled to Italy to escape the creditors whereupon William abandoned Catherine for another woman. Catherine died 2 years later aged 36 and eventually William ended up doing time in Fleet Prison.
'Redeemed by no single virtue, adorned by no single grace' read William's obituary.
Sad also from an architectural point of view because the building was one of Colen Campbell's first commissions, the architect credited for founding Georgian style.

The new one is quite easy. I'll give one of my style of clues if people are struggling into the weekend.
Well done Oat44 for one of the more interesting ones, I had absolutely no idea when I was walking there just how that whole area would've looked long ago.

^^Fantastic. I would never have got it from the first couple of clues, but it's worth it to find out something new and fascinating about London's history. I think I used to go to Wanstead Park when I visited my aunt in Forest Gate as a kid. Looking forward to going again.

I smell a pre-tag. 8:43am eh?
-
• #6283
Well maybe he uploaded the nose tag first, and his tag after.

Regarding the noses; I suspect most of you already know all about them, but: There are apparently seven of these noses located around Soho, installed by a sculptor called Rick Buckley. If you can find all 7, you will gain eternal wealth.

I tried to zoom in on number of the bus in the background, csi style - it didnt work.

The trail seems to have gone quiet, I'm off out for the day now so won't be able to check back so I'll give an easy clue to keep this moving.
It is nearby a place of learning that shares its name with a circuitous willy waving exercise some of you may have attempted.

Hmmm, circuitous willy waving exercise I may have attempted....

Yeah, you got me, bang to rights, it's a fair cop, I'll come quietly, I done the blag but I never used no shooters, everyone was at it, I never hurt anyone who didn't 'av it coming and I've always looked after me dear old mum.
Nearly 7 minutes pre tag, that's it, bring back hanging.

Heh, I was reading the EXIF data to see if your phone left in the lat:lon.
-
• #6294
I did actually leave the location visible in Flickr at first, by the time I remembered, and removed it, it had been viewed 15 times.
-
• #6295
The pre-tag was only the sheriff, not the deputy.

Damn. Pretty sure I know the area, just can't find any leads.
-
• #6298
Heh, I had a vague inkling where it might be, zoomed in on streetview and there were two flippin white lions in the garden, not a white cow. Bizarre.
-
• #6299
I now know what the cow is, but not where it is :(
If Katie (Coo? I think) and Dropout were listening to my mutterings about it on the bridges ride, they'll know what it is too :)

Booo not got then, so clearly 'you don't know man, you were'nt there'. (another clue)
And the circuitous willy waving exercise (that does'nt require a willy I might add) I was referring to was the 3 lap challenge. Easier?
@L&W, you can just about make out its back on streetview but there is some extra hedges on streetview that block most of the view of it.
@Mr Drem, I know nothing about it despite trying to find out yesterday, so please tell us more when someone finally gets this.
Come on now taggers, lovely day for a tag, the suns out and everything, and I think I've pretty much spelled it out now.
^ Oh no, what have I done!
