Well done skydancer!
The new one seems google-able but I have to wait another go before I can tag again. Darn!

true dat
idk where this is but that seems like a useful clue. hope it gets done today by someone
if you can decode my cryptic clue, it will give you the location. Central it ain't.
The waterway is significant enough to appear on a road atlas page covering the whole of greater london and it runs across a good portion of the page

It's not new and it's not a river. Plans date back to the early 1600's, when good queen Bess was on the throne, and it was designed as an aquifer to bring water from the springs of Hertfordshire into London. Clerkenwell to be precise, hence New River Head just off Rosebury Av, which I had planned for the follow on tag, although we have already had a tag of the Castle Climbing Centre on Green Lanes which was formerly a pumping station on the New River and is the most southerly point of anything which can be reasonably recognised as part of the original watercourse.

What about the New River walk in Islington. Isn't that recognisably New River and it's further south.

Really you can trace the line of the river from Clissold Park to the Angel without too many breaks, but I would stand by my assertion that the destination point is now the castle.

Mattty, I saw you heading the other way on Green Lanes while I was on my way there, didn't occour to me that you might have just been to bag the tag.
And seeing as no-one's biting on the nondescript bit of wall pic here's the full one...
Turnpike Lane Station, a few hundred yards from my house. Haven't got the longest road clue tho.

nice one, skydancer. Hoped you liked the opportunity to stretch your legs on a saturday - welcome to my new commute; from there to oxford circus & back each day (ss, naturally).
Did you read the sign on the gate?
-
• #3597
oh, and my reference to it still being altered today - in clissold park they are extending the segment of the new river as part of a multi million pound refurbishment. This was a bit of a self-indulgent tag for me having just moved from stoke newington to the new tag location. The new river and green lanes link my old and new homes quite neatly.
