Old tag: Stewy street art, just off Essex Road by the taxidermists
New tag:
Clue: Nobody is ever home

Ooh that's a good tag. I was going to do that one myself.

Excellent tag! Nice clue.

I knew you'd know it BQ, with your immense London knowledge. I was watching a documentary 3 or 4 years ago and have wanted to visit the place ever since, and bike tag finally gave me the motivation to do it! Thank you bicycle tag of bike.

Good tag scoot much more thoughtful than mine!
N.B. My clue related to the fact that the wall is on Cross Street (just so no one loses any sleep over that!)

no proper internet at the moment. Will fill in the details later.
New tag is next to the blue plaque for the person who created the location. -

Dammit. Got the tag but then had a pootle about, came in, made a cup of tea and watched a bit of telly before remembering what I was supposed to be doing.
Got an interesting shot of the back of the "building":

I didn't know about any of this! Are there more fake houses like Leinster Gardens?
-
• #3518
Not that I'm aware of. Pretty cool though, it blew my mind when I heard about it on the telly, it's my favourite London oddity by far.
I'm full to the brim with more tag ideas now, I may just spend all day tomorrow riding all around London taking preemptive photos. Ah, the life of the unemployed.

That allowed? My flickr is full of my surly steamroller next to buildings... got new frame recently almost same colour though (gloss black instead of graphite) can't tell the difference. That allowed?

My own view is that having to do a new tag after you have done the old tag should all be part of the game, rather than storing them up and then just having to dash home and upload. Seems to me more a part of the game than insisting it is the same bike.
But the view seems to be that 'interesting' tags, with some historical or cultural significance, are what are wanted.
None of which makes a jot of difference if people post the pic the wrong way up or ignore the rule about including details of what the tag is when you have found it. -

I suppose it does go against the fun of the game, I wanted to do it mainly so I could have lots of interesting tags with a story instead of freaking out that someone is going to beat me and do an uninspired location that's close to my house.
But I have now written a list, which I think will save me from panic-stricken moments that hit just after I've taken a photo of a tag.
(or am I lying and going to do it anyway and you just won't notice?? Mwahaha) -

I certainly think that the spirit of the game would be to get both the old and the new tag in one visit as it were.
I've been tempted to take a quick snap of my bike against something interesting (Greenwich foot tunnel last time) but have resisted as it seems to take something away from the challenge.

ok, back from birthday dinner with a bit more time.
I see someone already posted the info abbout the location. It's a real london curiosity and a fascinating hidden landmark.
My new tag is also something of an oddity. It has a very misleading name and despite being rather old is still being altered today, albeit several miles from the tag location.
Easing north... initially green fields, crossed by lanes; but wait a bit! More hills! Inch over them and you're there.
Good one on the Spaniards. I should've recognised it!
