I'm with the Shick. Far too obscure. However. Massive rep to MoN for getting it.
He is at a bit of an unfair advantage if it's in the middle of nowhere.

What is less distinctive then an early childhood memory?
Not sure what you mean--did you mean 'more'?
I mean to apply 'distinctive' to what's actually in the picture. I enjoy this game because I love streetscapes and cityscapes. Just a wall doesn't mean anything to me, and I think the main information on the tag should be in the picture and not in the additional clue supplied. I find it interesting that quite a few blank walls have been posted, and I've been even more astonished that people have actually been getting them.

Works fine for me.
That's a nice tag, Ludwig. I like that little street. It exemplifies very well what I mean by 'distinctive'. :)

But not for me, though last night's of the same street works?

I cant click on this mornings one either. Ive found this more and more common over the past week. Forum picture issues?

There is something funny about the way the pics are loaded. Ctrl + F5 usually sorts things, either on this screen or the picture screen if it opens blank.

Can you see the full picture here? I've pasted it into this post.

Unfortunately the South End Green flyover was never built. ;-)

this is great, will attempt to get involved, but tags will have to be in peckham for any chance of that.

Yeah, it should all look a lot more like Germany around here. :|

The London Motorway Box was a horrific idea, it was iffy even in the 60's, dread to think what London would be like if it had been built. Although in Brixton they even got as far a building the Barrier Estate, a splendidly brutal bit of architecture which was intended to back onto the motorway and act as a sound block for the rest of the estate but now sits, subtle as a supertanker, alongside Coldharbour Lane.
Other plans included roofing over the high road. This was not such a bad idea tho the scheme would benefit from adding good solid walls and not bothering with doors.

This is a good documentary on the ringways etc. Worth a watch if you haven't seen it.

Right, that's about enough hints for Xander.

There used to be or still is a faded poster in a box somewhere on a wall in South and Green where I first read about this.

Little Green Street, just off Highgate Road. You can read all about it on their website. It's a lovely little street, I used to live just the other side of the railway on Twisden Road and I've even been in some of the houses. The residents ran a campaign to try and stop a development at the end of the lane which would have meant lorries and so on passing through, they lost but the developers apparently can't afford to build on it now.
Funnily enough I was at the Southampton Arms across the road last night, a bike tag in the rain was perfect for helping clear my hangover but the puncture on the way back was less welcome. So from an old row of houses, to an old row of houses. But where are they?

Is there a clue to go with the picture?

You just read it ;)

OK either its cryptic or I am being dumb. I'll take my default standing and go with the latter
Someone else's early childhood memory :)
I think a mix of buildings and objects and so on is fine; the buildings in South London are as much a mystery to me as that concrete wall was.
