  • Is it just me that can't see the current tag?

  • New Tag

Honestly, Ludwig, could you possibly post something less distinctive?

I mean, there's every chance that someone will get it, but I wouldn't have a clue how to possibly find this. I don't know how others feel, but I generally don't really like the tag locations that are just a doorway or a bit of wall. That may be just me not finding anything to latch on to, but I would generally advocate clearly recognisable locations.

  • Yeah, not got much to work on there but I have a niggling suspicion of where it may be and I might even be able to have a check on the way home tonight. Not very hopeful tho.

  • Looked an easy one to me.

    Is it Tuesday?

  • They are all easy if you know where they are. Is Tuesday a clue? I was thinking north but not at the top of the hill.

  • tuesday must be a clue. what happens tuesdays? Flask, Roebuck, peckham polo, TNRC,...

  • Maybe this? George Orwell on his short walk to work in the bookshop takes one wrong turn from his place on the dead end road on the hill where he is writing a book and finds this place.

  • That woul put me in the right area but it's now getting dark and pissing down so might give it a swerve.

  • Got it:
    George Orwell = 1984
    Short Walk = stroll
    Bookshop = Waterstones
    Wrong Turn = Girlfriends Navigation
    Dead end = The Rapture
    The Hill = Ally Pally
Writing a book = copying stuff from wikipedia
Finds this place = wishes he hadn't

    Am I Close?

  • Fussball very cleverly used the post war concrete construction to echo the dystopian visions of a man who lived locally. This bridge is as out of place in it's leafy Victorian suburb as Orwell would have felt, and what could be better than a footbridge to help one imagine that boot stamping on a human face; forever. It's all there if you think about it, tho it's probably easier if you used to go, as a 4 year old, to the one o'clock club just next to it.

So, from Orwell to Marx. See you next Tuesday and no walking.

  • Well done Matt, actually brilliant.

  • *Fussball very cleverly ...... the one o'clock club just next to it.

    *But, where is it?

  • MoN haha great exposition. and good new tag, i thought about doing that one before

  • I'm with the Shick. Far too obscure. However. Massive rep to MoN for getting it.

  • Is it the Sobell Centre? I used to go there

  • Oh, yeah. Footbridge over the railway line that runs along the south side of Parliament Hill Fields. Half way between Hampstead Heath and Gospel Oak stations on the Overground.

  • Ahh of course. I used to play in that play ground too. I know the new one and will try and snatch in the morning if im in the area

  • Is it the Sobell Centre? I used to go there

No, Orwell shunned ice-skating as being far too bourgeois, tho I suppose he might have popped in there occasionally to use the free weights.

  • The only reason I said the sobell centre was because the tag and the centre have the same corrugated effect on the concrete

  • Swains Lane

  • Ill have this one tomorrow for sure!

  • Hope you do xander. I was just about to congratulate MoN on taking it somewhere more recognisable, and now this! I've got a tag I really want to do on the weekend...

  • Fussball very cleverly ...... the one o'clock club just next to it. But, where is it?

    As Matt said.

What is less distinctive then an early childhood memory?
