Montague Arms was also the location of an interview for NME in 1989 with Mark E Smith, Nick Cave & Shane MacGowan which ended in an impromptu gig.
Things fall apart. The Unholy Trinity climb on the pub stage, MacGowan
on drums. Smith on guitar and Cave on organ. A jam of sorts ensues-
The Velvets meet Hammer Horror with a hint of Acid House. Totally
wired. Summit mental.A great Saturday afternoon read.

Loved that pub, sureal and wonderful.

I could do with another clue tbh. Loads of gordons and flashes that don't seem to line up.

It's near Jesus' local gardens

Are the colours on the fence significant? I'm not getting anywhere with this.
-
• #24435
Yes @WillMelling the significance of the colours on the fence will be clear when the next person posts a photo.
You'd be very close if you went to the horticultural hotspot of Jesus' hometown. It may be too recent for Google Street View, I haven't checked.

I'd probably have got the street quicker if I'd paid more attention in R.E.
-
• #24437
And, yes, looks a bit different on street view.

We're tagging bus stops now? I suppose we won't run out of them in a hurry.
-
• #24442
Harsh, but fair.
-
• #24443
There are more Gordon Road's in London than I can be bothered to count. Which one is this?
-
• #24444
It's in Peckham. Next to Nazareth Gardens.
-
• #24445
only special bus stops
-
• #24446
Ah, it's a very recent paint job--the house (85 Gordon Road) is still off-white in the StreetView picture from August 2020.
-
• #24447
Yep that's it, on the corner with Brayards Street. AFAIK it's just a private house.
-
• #24449
Which reminds me of the idea I had, when I've had enough of just riding down as many roads as possible, to ride to every tag.
Now, why is this the least surprising post on here ever? :)
