I have nothing to add except that this tag is excellent. I don’t know where it is though.

The old one was on Parkway, by the way. Easy to find on Google image.
Think we might need some more hints on the new one. On the other hand, maybe not. -

Ah, I know exactly where this is.
Sadly, I'm 466 miles away, and I've already been for a ride today. -

PM those that can't google?
I'm going to grab it tomorrow, excuse for fast food lunch.

If we knew precisely where BQ is and then found out another forumenger's distance to the tag...
Hmmmm
-
• #24132
I'm going to get GPS details and see if BQ is wrong!!!!!!!!!
Or be funny to see what the distance is.

Now the issue of a sort of relevant tag that is quite easy to find to keep the tag going.
Thought about Dr Samuel Johnsons cat came to mind but remeber that it has been tagged before. Odd thing is why do I remember that one, and not where I put my house keys.

This is the one good yet static cat on an easily googleable list that hasn’t been tagged yet.
-
• #24135
Dr. Salter's cat could be another candidate.
ETA - Assuming that it hasn't been stolen again.
ETFA - Or previously tagged. -

OLD: not open at night but behind that railing is a cat. Queen Sq.

Blimey! Looks like Streetview were there the day it was being put in.

Is there a rule/ideal about how far away from a tagged item is acceptable as tag.
Also what is the etiquette about telling the tag story, should it be left to the OP?
-
• #24140
Hmm will leave this up to the tag elders but does the thing of interest being tagged need to be in the photo too? As per the bike rule?
1st page states 'location' so think this passes but I expect a jumping of the fence next time.
-
• #24141
'interest' is putting it strongly. Precedent is that if it's somewhere that's not open at night, or on holidays, or during war time, then 'as close as possible' is ok.

^ This.
I've been caught out in the past by an Antony Gormley riverside sculpture that is only accessible to the public during daylight hours. -
• #24144
Apparently the cat has been nicked before. Addis Ababa is spelled Adis Abeba on that globe. Take a sharpie if you go get it.

Sam was also one of her cats. Original sam was nicked and this is the replacement.

If any of you lot were in the sculpture thieving business in the mid 2000's and know where it is, it could technically be tagged twice.

• #24148
At a guess melted down.

I'm still holding out for those Hepworth's from Dulwich park turn up too.

Yeah, we've never been strict about that. The general feeling is that responsibility for it to be open is on the original tagger rather than the one coming to claim the tag. I think this is good because it's better to tag something that's always open. It does result in a less satisfying second tag photo, but there you go.
New: from cool cats to bronze cats
