  • Good work there.

  • Always worth uploading to Encyclopedia Dramatica if you fancy preserving for posterity.

    fixed

  • did anyone notice this?

Yet Brussels is now proposing to make motorists responsible for all accidents involving cyclists, irrespective of who was actually in the wrong.
So if you are driving responsibly along the street and you are hit by a cyclist who has shot a red light, done a wheelie and is listening to his iPod, you will have to pay for damage to the bike and compensation for the cyclist's injuries.
This is even more of an injustice given the way many cyclists ignore the Highway Code, thus putting themselves at risk just as much as **peestrians. **

First referenced on page 4 (albeit obliquely). And then again on page 8 far more obviously. Finally, fucking finally, I have someone to share the mirth with :)

    PW has pee-strains, tee hee.

  • I spent a while reading the history of deletions on Wiki, there's some quality stuff there.

  • Unnecessary reiteration here > "asking how it looked when "how it looks when a group of mostly 20something males personally attacks a - let's face it - backwards 40 year old woman".

  • Would it have any bad effect on the forum if someone got her email address and emailed her a link to this thread?

  • I hope that whilst she is reading a Jane Austen novel a wasp gets caught between the window and the interior shutters which distracts her so much that she cannot find where she was on the page.

  • @ Gatti-give her a chance to make a typo, in fact thats the editor, or subs job to weed out.
Would be helpful to point out the totally confused way she is mentioning strict liability:-
"Yet Brussels is now proposing to make motorists responsible for all accidents involving cyclists, irrespective of who was actually in the wrong."
So if I hit a pedestrian as I cycle on the pavement, with no lights or helmet, listening to my ipod, flipping the V to a pensioner and shouting expletives at a group of children, then the motorist is to blame? Do I get to choose which one?

The comments facility was disabled as soon as the article appeared. A second-rate hack slags of cyclists, the page gets loads of hits, the advertisers are happy.

  • Anyway I hope she uses self-raising flower in her pancakes tonight and ends up with REALLY THICK PANCAKES THAT NO-ONE LIKES.

    wha?!
    Fluffy American pancakes ftw.

Sorry, I don't understand your point spindrift

  • i hope she gets stung by a jellyfish

  • I've covered that one

  • I hope someone replaces her marmite with vegemite and she throws up on mums broken arm covering the caste in brown breakfast sludge.

  • I hope the Daily Mail becomes subject of a hostile takeover from a "foreign" socialist newspaper that wants to promote the abolishment of monarchy.

  • No one could deny that many motorists drive irresponsibly and that every year cyclists lose their lives tragically and needlessly as a result. But the police have found that half the collisions between bicycles and cars are the fault of the cyclist, according to analysis by the Transport Research Laboratory.

Even if this were true, which it may or may not be, I;ve heard lots of stats, most of which report the vast majority of incidents are the fault of motorists.

But even if it were fact, 50% are motorists fault and 50% cyclist.... So what? That's what we'd want in an ideal world, no? If accidents occur which they do, then a 50:50 split in blame indicates a perfect transport system.

  • is she on facebook?

  • 0 comments? Has it been restricted?

  • If you're going to have Wikipedia fun, get it right :P
