I would really like to play at the worlds.

Because of this I am not that happy about the UK champs as the qualifiers. Not so much because people will be left out, but for purely selfish reasons (don't like the group, feel there is a lot of room for improvement with a few more months play).

However by this same selfishness, I would probably be incapable of organising a similar tourney later on (and would still lose I expect).

City allocation is not the right route imo, it should be the best of the UK. And by its nature the champs provides that.

There are enough serious tournaments going on and to be frank pretty much all the teams that are serious will be in manchester.
For those of us more in for the frolic or are as serious but with less effect, support and wildcard tournament are enough to look forward to, for what is going to be an awesome few days.

UK Champs decide the best UK teams to represent our United Kingdom in a tournament against the best from the World. This isn't about every region getting a look in or what's fair and what's not, this is about showcasing the best UK players and doing the best we can while representing the UK. I'd be miffed if anyone but the best played for the UK.

Berlin is gonna be awesome, if you win the chance to play for the UK then it's just better. I'm going regardless of outcome (+1 Crack Fox)

Woody, we can do a vote on the main polo forum, I wasn't suggesting the LPC, as as you say, it's unfair.

If we make it a public vote, we can see who voted for what, If there are blatant votes with made up users etc, they can be removed.

In fact, I might set up a vote now. with 7 days to vote?

Next year we will have to make sure that we schedule the UK champs a month before the Worlds and make everyone aware that it will be the qualifications.

Might be best to find out who's hosting it first. If it's in Europe then no probs, but try finding a cheap flight to somewhere in America with a few weeks to go.

This year has caught us out, next year we can at least plan things properly.

Theoretically I don't think it's fair, but it doesn't matter if all the people who want to go to the worlds are going to mcr.

I am going to mcr, and I'm not that bothered about voting as I know I'm not going to Berlin. (even if I were good enough to go, it's not going to happen!
