  • should we bring our own sabres or will they be provided ?

  • @dicki I will bring a small selection of Champagne sword but you are welcome to bring your own!

    New page repeat:
I am running a Champagne tasting session at Vinarius on Roman Road, East London at the end of November.

I will presenting our full range so it is a good opportunity to learn more about Champagne and try our complete range, including the (nearly sold out forever) Vintage 2008 and Blanc de Blancs 2010.

Good date night too - I will also be giving Champagne sabering lessons.

    Tickets here:

  • @Vince popped round with fresh supplies earlier in the week - top man.

Just celebrating the start of the festive season with a glass or two of Vintage 2008 - delicious.

  • +1. Excellent Champagne

  • Thank you @ChasnotRobert and @sacredhart

We are officially sold out of Vintage 2008 forever so enjoy those last bottles!

  • Ah - collector's items now!

The 2008 compared very favourably to a bottle of Louis Roederer we also drank last night.

What's the next vintage in the pipeline?

  • Well, the wine only gets better before it is disgorged and a cork is placed on the bottle so there is only a limited time you can actually collect it for.
We always recommend to keep it for a maximum of two years, in appropriate conditions.

We have a super limited amount of 2009 Vintage being released in 2017 then big jump to 2012 which will only be available circa 2018/19.

  • Had a bottle of the 2010 Lasseaux Blanc de Blancs with Christmas Dinner at Casa Jangle.

Will be cracking a bottle of the 2008 Vintage shortly.

  • @vince am I able to get 2 or 3 bottles of your magic elixir, or do you only sell in bulk?
Alternatively, where would be easiest to get them?
Wanting them for when the missus and I buy a house (the next few months hopefully) so no urgency.
Alas, schlepping to France is out of the question and I'm not actually in London (although i can be easy enough)

  • Thank you for the interest!

If you pick up from Stoke Newington, you can have as little as you need.

There are two shops selling our range in London:

    • Vinarius on the Roman in East London
    • Trina's Wines in Barnes

    Thanks again!

    Vince

  • Excellent! Stoke Newington isn't out of the question.
Will drop you a DM closer to the time

Always happy to support a fellow forumite whenever possible.

  • Yes way Rosé!

  • Have developed a habit of getting spendy on the vino + it's getting a bit out of control. Not volume wise, just price. Has anyone grown accustomed to a lofty (it's all relative) price point and had to ween themselves down a tier or two? It feels like a one-way street.

  • Life's too short for shit wine.
What prices are we talking, £15/25/100 a bottle?

  • I've bought into the fact that certain costs (bottling, shipping etc) are fixed and thus for cheaper wines the value of the actual wine is proportionally less. So have grown accustomed to paying £10+ for day to day stuff. Definitely worth it. We rarely drink more than a bottle a week, so not big numbers.

  • I joined the winesociety but also still like going to buy wine, especially if I have had something I like at a restaurant.

  • Can highly recommend http://www.fromvineyardsdirect.com/?ll_ref_id=nLEaRNSP

Their declassified wines and mystery mixed cases in particular are very good value.

  • This wine is really doing it for me at the moment, from Weninger, grower in Austria/Hungary.

They sell it in Newcomer wines in Dalston, £16 a bottle

  • I spent a few years (ok, it was about 2 decades) collecting and drinking fairly expensive wines.

Now I am less bothered and usually drink wines around £7-£12 a bottle from the wine society. Plenty of well made, pleasant wines around that price range which are enjoyable to drink.

  • For those who might need corporate gifts, I am VAT registered and now accept card payment (including American Express).

So if you need Champagne, I can deliver across London.

Pictured is our Blanc de Blancs Champagne, 100% Chardonnay.

  • I too am interested in a bottle to try.

  • @PQR & Dethbeard

Trade is at £45 and it'll even come in a nice wooden presentation case with little scissors to cut the hand tied hemp rope which holds the cork in place.

RRP is £59.95 with no wooden case, £69.95 with the wooden case & scissors
