I managed to accidentally order 2 new Kindle Voyages with the red (pinkish) origami cover..... before I send one back, I thought I'd offer it on here as they're on back order from Amazon.
Just looking for what I paid - £170 for the Voyage wifi, £40 for the case - collected from Grays Inn Road -

Anybody got a Kindle for sale for cheap? Not the fancy ones please, I'm looking for at least a bit less than £59 as that's the price of the cheapest one from Amazon.

i have just received the Voyager after i lost the last paperwhite.
Its lovely.
It did have its initial software issues to start, but now, after the software upgrade, the thing is a beast.
Love it

Kindle 7" HDX 16gb £99
Totally worth it
-
• #1144
@TW, brought a Kindle Fire HDX for my mother whose dropped a couple of not so subtle hints that she would like a tablet, seemed like the cheapest option...
hoping its not too amazon centric for use as a non buying stuff tablet... -
• #1145
too amazon centric
It is.
It also has a totally locked bootloader, so rooting & flashing a custom ROM is a bit fraught.
-
• #1146
dude what you just said goes over my head, so will definitely go over my mother's as long as she can play games, surf the internet and email people occasionally I'm sure she'll be happy..
-
• #1147
She can and will be able to do all of those, but she will probably be restricted to apps available from the amazon app store, not google play.
She'll also be subjected to a load of amazon advertising
But - she can have prime & instants, and all of that jazz

Wahey, picked up the Saino's £40 Kindle Touch Wi-Fi. Didn't have to fight anyone for it either. Feel a bit dirty from having participated in 'Black Friday' but otherwise very pleased. Thanks for the tip.

interesting article on the difference between the ebooks that people buy and the ebooks that people finish.
http://www.theguardian.com/books/2014/dec/10/kobo-survey-books-readers-finish-donna-tarttI've only ever not finished reading two books, and there is something inherently bloody minded about struggling through a book you absolutely hate, and in the old days carrying it with you, which maybe reading on a kindle has dissipated...

i have a habit of buying books i dont even start and then forget ive bought them and then cant discern them over the books ive forgotten that ive read...
I just hate that you STILL cannot have books grouped by Series, unless you are willing to put them into a collection yourself. It's a fucked for SciFi books when I've no clue which book is next
