  • one of the more underrated rims around. and fairly old. wonder where owner came across a set.

i've had one for 15 years and it's been taking really legitimate abuse on my my basket bike nearly 6 of them. Refuses to give up.

  • My new pub bike is born, finished it yesterday and took it for a pint today. I wanted something a little more stylish to go out on, but would still be happy to lock it up at night. Built up with vintage bits that were not in great shape cosmetically, but function just fine. fixed gear, two brakes.

  • Dope!

  • Apart from the frame and forks pretty much everything is/looks brand new.

  • still dope.
slightly sceptical as to whether its been helped along

  • That has definitely been forced, check out the raw alloy which progresses to primer then paint.

  • Looks sanded not chipped :/

  • Still look awesome, rat doesn't need to implied it been harvested in a Yorkshire field, those VW were forced to look rat as well.

  • Trying too hard >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • Bargain on this...

  • I'd like to know how they got a Nitto Pearl so far down into that tiny headtube.

  • I'm after some inspiration for a cheap build, so show me your cheap ass builds please.

  • Cant post up pics as i sold them all for top dolla on here

    dont want to get lynched

  • Ha..:)

  • Pearls aren't all that long, also, you can cut them...

  • This would be a good challenge- budget of £100, receipts to be shown, safety kit (tyres/tubes/brakes) exempt.

    Might be fun?

  • Cheers! where did you find the image, btw?
Wondering if there's any info / tips on how to do that properly before I start hacking.

  • Beater? rat? anti?

    Total cost £90

first fixed bike, first ride... spds and chain tension came the next day

    Anti >>>>>>>>>>>

  • Looks good for £90

  • I paid less than £100 for this build... £35 for what is obviously a crashed frame forks and headset, bars are alu and bent so were free, stem £10, back wheel was a free cycled 27 and a £15 hub. Everything else was taken from spare parts for other builds.

The only thing I bought with the intention of putting it on this build was the tyres and bar tape.

(Not including tyres, tubes and chain which iirc pushed the cost up to about £120, although I've just noticed this picture doesn't have chain or pedals, the pedals where old spd's that I first bought to try them out, paid £1)

Everything except tyres, pedals and rim tape came from this forum.

  • If you mark out the same taper as original and wrap something around the stem before clamping it...it'd be hard to go wrong.

  • Mine, little less than 100 pounds.

  • Ooh that's nice!
