anyone got pictures of ratty aluminum cx bikes?

• #3255
I've got the propane, rods and correct head to braze I just need to find the time to actually get it done. Then i can start chopping roads frames drop outs off, slapping some cheapo track ones on and flogging them on ebay for over £9000

Unfortunately I think you'll be disappointed. There have been no scrap bikes at my local tip for about 3 years now. ..
I thought as much tbh.
In this country common sense is outlawed in favor of a set of regulations dreamt up by a man in a suit who has never, and will never, go anywhere near where his rules will apply.
One of my pet peeves in this country is health and safety regs, can transform me in a matter of seconds from a calm laid back guy to a ranting red faced lunatic!
Oh well, will try nonetheless, but also give any bike recycling efforts a call too.
Cheers for the advice. The bikes at my local tip/recycling centre go to a bike charity. Usable furniture also goes to local charities.
While I admit I did like rummaging through the local skip on the first Sunday of the month. It's probably better that these things go to those in need.

If you need a hand let me know as I'm very interested in having a go, we could also call it an artistic collaboration and slap another couple of grand on top! ;)

Have you got any more interesting projects to share with us by any chance Konga?
-
• #3261
Yes, I've checked out a few of those in the past.
Have to admit to feeling slightly jealous I don't have your skills! -

konga sold his mtb pursuit for me a few weeks ago. This is how it looks like at the moment:
still to do:
- paint probably, was thinking silver hammerpaint
- drill + saw/file those dropouts a bit deeper so I can slam the wheel a bit further
- paint probably, was thinking silver hammerpaint

Leave the paint, it looks the perfect rat like that. Like it a lot.
And are those 'dale forks?!
Its a pity the chain stays weren't cut a little shorter in first place, but know why. No way you could get them shortened now instead of drilling dropouts?
-

got the fork for free, dunno from which bike it is originally from!
Actually I am thinking about putting 32 back 28 front (panaracer paselas). It is a thight fit but I think it will clear event the fork. It will balance the clearances and make this a bit more confy for bar runs.

You got crabon Cannondale Slice forks for free? they must be worth £50 (if they're of a R900 or later)

Thought I'd post some readers wives whilst it's in it's beater get up.
^^ Same story at a Surrey tip last week - nothing that's been tipped is to leave the premesis (health & safety mate).
I've always found Cromwell to be a good source of kit (along with Machine Mart) http://www.cromwell.co.uk/category_page/01
