They come in 27 as well which is nice as they're one of the few half-decent tyres which do. I promise I have altered anything
-
• #2853
well I like it, thanks for letting me know about the tyres I never knew! (I have put 700s on a frame for 26s before and it just looked similar thats all)
-

the viscount has a conti ultra sport on it, surely that would mean 700?? and the clearance looks like it is tighter that it originally would have been...
its pretty much only new tyre that comes in 27" that and gatorskin

Someing mad cool about the kid on the Raleigh. Just looks like he's having mad fun! What it's about.
Tried that earlier, i'm to short to reach the tire to foot jam/brake :(
-
• #2856
did you try to put your heel on the tyre or your toes? I find the heel is easier, especially if you twist round on the seat a touch
-
• #2857
My heel, can barely reach the tire unless i stand up, which is just sketchy.
Pretty fun with a front brake though.

well i really do not understand the foot retention issue i can brake as easy with straps as without i still go fast maybe because i started on a bmx, then bmx brakelss and after that it seemed the natural thing riding fixed brakeless. and i am really not ued to straps or clips i tried the and i would fall at every stop. and Macaframa and Mash taught me one thing You never stop you have to flow through the traffic there is always a stopless path
not always a stopless path, say at a steep hill, red light, massive truck set up? why take the risk?

you really believe that shit? They can get away with it in SF because the roads are wide, long and straight. They can see the traffic lights from ages away and time it to go through on green, and even when there is moving traffic it's so slow they can just go around it. Try that in London and you'll get a taxi do a U turn in front of you without indicating, someone on a phone walking in to the road without looking and a bus overtaking you then pulling in straight away, all at the same time. You need to be able to stop.

thats shit hot junk.
If it had a zero rake fork, would be perfect home brew rat track.
Just realised, I who work in an engineering works, have a requirement for a cheap track bike, yet cannot afford a frame that fits me, and access to piles of crappy 90s steel things..... why have I not already done this....

The wheelbase is so short, less rake would make it impossible to ride.

too bad the cutout was mismeasured.

Now that this thread is nearly 60 pages can we start organising a 'Rat Bikes Ride', preferably with film title pun , as a blatant rip-off of the Aspokalypse Now HHSB Ride?
no miniature bikes with bent fork crown allowed...
