That's a pic of the Milli Vanilli boys.
A reference to manufacturing something that gives a false impression of legitimacy.
Not saying the bike isn't successful, just odd that it's been pre-aged.
Mostly, just funnin'. -

oh, i know them milli fails, just couldn't make the connection.
i get what you imply there and honestly, you are right on the money, but not in a pretentious way i hope.
think of it as a bit of a piss take. -

yes, funnin' and foolin' around.

Understood, and the skill involved is appreciated.

That brooklyn is probably only a few years old... like buying a pair of new jeans and cutting holes in them.

My old messenger kona explosif bike. Stripped and rattle canned the worse colour I could find. Much fun.

My own around-town beater:
1980s Thompson frame with some superficial rust :)

This is really good to ride. I bought it off edscoble and rode it everyday for 3 weeks in germany, it is now my away with work ride! chuck it on the back of a lorry and hay presto freedom wherever I go!*
*are those cotterless cranks? if so how did you sort out the bb?
-
• #1662
Original BB were wonky, and the GI is way too spinny, brought an old road crank and new BB from Fitzrovia, perfection.
Man it was such a fun bike, I missed it.

The update of bars and now a brake too!
Abit of more adjusting has been done since the photo! Including saddle and bars position -
• #1664
^What's that frame designed for? strange angles for a track bike no?
-
• #1665
is that for 650 front? ^^
-
• #1666
not for an early 20th century track frame, the fork is definitely not original is it?
-
• #1667

I'm guessing you're thinking of the Raleigh Twenty, which has non-standard shell width and threading, but this is a Dawes Kingpin which accepts a standard BB. A much better choice for modding.

• #1668
Bought it as a 1940's track frame! Geometry back then was abit different than now a days! The front fork is a 700c with nice tight clearances! And of course isn't the same period!
-
• #1669
I know what you mean! I wish I had a kingpin rather than the twenty I sold due to the bb problems!
-
• #1670
Alas, this was my beater. It was without doubt the best bike I ever owned. Sniff

I don't know if you're going to have to have really high (and tilted back) bars though to make it comfortable? Like a chopper!

^^ welcome back Hoonz. You in the country?

Is the best ride I had! The bars now are perfect, same with the saddle move it a few cms back! Thinking of a front rack now for shopping and stuff! Any suggestion?

How the fuck does a stem get that scratched up!?

How the fuck does a stem get that scratched up!?
tl;dr??
That's really bloody cool. I was gonna get a Motorhead sticker as a headbadge for my bike but I couldn't find one that'd fit, plus Lemmy wouldn't ride something with a rack...
