    I am on week 3 too. I had to repeat 1 week because somehow I forgot the 5th set :-)
    In my initial test I only managed 8 now I am at 25.
    I dont do the sit-ups but I do the plank, helped my back a lot.

    When is the best time to do the exercise? I usually only get to it late at night but feel tired by then.

  • wow 8 to 25. initially I could do 15 and before week 3 I only managed 22. I stuck to it proper. How tall are you? Just asking.

    I've heard before breakfast is the best time to do strength exercises, but I dunno. I do it before lunch as a compromise, or after a ride, as Im already warmed up.

    What is the plank?

  • I started with 2x 30 sec, now 2x 60sec but dont seem to be able to improve beyond that.

  • I used* to be able to do 5 x 20 pressups no problem. Since then I've got rather into swimming (3k at least 3 times a week) and cycle much more than I used to... generally speaking i think i'm much fitter than I was then. Inspired by this thread title (I haven't actually read the whole thread) I tried to do some pressups last week: Failed on 2.

    Fsking embarassing. I literally couldn't raise my straining bulk a second time. Tried again the following day and same result. To be fair I do have a slight shoulder injury at the moment but still... not good.

  • you failed on the second pressup or the second set of 20? I though swimming makes you
    super strong.

  • swimming a lot makes you good at swimming. if you do it too much it also knackers your shoulders causing sharp pain and humiliating collapse when doing pressups.

  • I've made to week 4 on the push ups but I hit another wall I think. Bit mental the rate at which you need to progress. Think I'm gonna have to repeat week 3 again (again).

    Doing OK on the sit ups tho. I reck i've got some buff abs under my moderate paunch

    When this thread was new, I managed to do a minute plank with a 20kg plate on my back. But since then I gave up on all the ab work I used to do like L-sits, leg raises and attempting front-levers. So my abdominal strength has probably gone down.

    My squat numbers have finally exceeded 100kg which is nice. But still a comparatively tiny.

    about 75kg @ 5'8" trying hard to get up to 90kg but keep failing.
