Dash cam footage was “missing” and the only witness to the actual incident had ran straight to the driver to check on him ignoring completely the seriously injured 10 year old girl, and had followed up a couple days later by ringing where he works to check on him. No bias there then.
No action being taken by police.
My sister is currently looking into a civil case for at least shared liability to recoup some of the costs incurred by the whole ordeal -

Oh and I almost forgot, witness says in her statement that the driver swerved onto the opposite lane to avoid the accident but that Amey went into the side of his van.
Driver said he didn't swerve because he didn't have time to react, first police officer attending noted parallel straight tyre marks on the road and tyre mark on the front bumper consistent with the height of the bicycle wheel. -

Glad she's healing up. I really hope the impact of the brain injury is minor.
The rest of it is infuriating. Fuck the driver & fuck the witness.

Fucking hell mate this is such a fucking heartbreaking thing

Came here to grumble about roadsafing a cabbie for driving on the wrong side of a ped island and almost hitting someone. Doesn't seem important now though.
Hope she's healing up ok and all goes as well as can be.
+seconded what TW says about driver and witness.

Fucking hell that's really serious. I hope she does as well as she can do under the circumstances!
(Just to mention it, her name (and that of other patients) is visible on the screen, in case you don't want it to be out there.)

• #8533
The story was on quite a few news outlets with her name on, its not a problem but thanks

• #8534
Ah no worries then, I thought I might mention it just in case.
In any case again, all the best to her, the scans look properly grim. :(

Anyone able to work out the license plate of this white van?
It’s a TNT driver who went the wrong way down a one-way road. I stopped him to say he was going the wrong way. He told me he didn’t care, he does it everyday and to feel free to report him to TNT.

I’d hazard a guess at CN57 BYN
-
• #8537
CN57 BYN? CN67 BYN? CN87 BYN?
It looks like one of them, but a search on vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk returns nothing, so maybe not?
Where are you based? Could help with the area code etc., see here: https://www.newreg.co.uk/dvla-number-plate-identifiers/
EDIT: Actually, that 3rd digit can only be 0, 1, 5 or 6. The 4th does really look a lot like a 7, so I'd wager CN57 or CN67 for the first part is right. Which leaves the question about the random letters at the end.

Well, is it?

Dammit, you got it before me! I didn't think of trying a 'V' (still not sure how it is one), but the 'white citroen' sounds pretty accurate... !

I think the last letter might be an R. This is the image darkened down.
Which also brings up a White Citroen Van on DVLA

You might be right!

Good detective work. Ignoramus question - what can you do apart from reporting to roadsafe? Presumably there's no (easy) way of linking it to TNT or reporting it to them?
-
• #8543
There’s probably a central e-mail / contact portal on the website. But if your company uses TNT, you could complain through your account manager. I did this when I was cut up on a motorway by a truck from one of the hauliers with which we have a major contract. Fella didn’t know what hit him (which ironically is almost exactly what happened to me, Mrs c00ps and mini c00ps).

Thanks for the help everyone! CN67 BYV looks like the one.

I was just going to send an email through the “contact us” on their website.
I imagine TNT can link it to the driver via the license plate or maybe location/road name (if they take it that serious).
I got the feeling he may have been a self-employed delivery driver like My Hermes and Yodel. Just by the way he didn’t give a shit. He even told me he works for TNT and report him.
I have no idea if TNT will care. I expect to just get a generic response. I don’t have any actual evidence of him driving the wrong way.

Think its a nailed on R rather than a V when you check the picture. Both check out as the same model and colour on the mot checker which gives a little more detail (White Citroen Berlingo).

Yes, I think you are correct! Luckily I haven’t send the email yet. Will amend the draft now.

What would your niece like for Christmas?
Life's a bit shit but maybe something she wants would help her feel like the world cares.
I have £50 and an Amazon prime account.
Edit my 10yo niece was super happy with Bluetooth headphones.*

That’s extremely kind of you. To be honest I have no idea what 10 year olds are into these days. She likes dancing, music, girly things

Just ridden home from work.
I was turning right from Borough High Street / London bridge onto Tooley Street when a light van behind me drove right up to my rear wheel, and literally pushed me out of the way!
Apart from the fact that I could easily have been killed, that's a no right turn for private vehicles.
That junction must be on CCTV, and I know the time give or take 5 minutes. I would like to report it, because that driver is going to kill someone at some point.
How do I go about it?
Thanks for asking. She’s doing really well.
It’s confirmed that she has permanently lost the sight in one eye and she’s having some scans this week as they suspect some minor but permanent brain damage. Unfortunately though she’s all healed up now and not in pain but needs to go in next week I think, to have the plates removed from the roof of her mouth so she’s going to be very sore again which will feel like a step back. It’s been tough on the whole family but the support has been brilliant.
Scans from a few weeks back attached. Circled are all the fractures/breaks.
