• "Power share this"

  • Call him an ethnic slur before smacking him one would be a problem. Calling him a fucking wanker before putting hands on would not.

  • This has probably been answered a load of times, but am too angry to search properly... what's most effective way to complain about a London bus? Just had an out of service bus plough straight through a red light (not a second or two late, must have been properly red as green man was up). I was just about to step out while crossing the road with my daughter on Brixton Hill. Should I go straight to police? I've got license number.

  • You can complain direct to the company if you fancy wasting 15 mins of your life.

  • Remember I was knocked off in December? I never put the claim through to their insurers because the husband threatened me (in front of the police officer as well).

Someone cut me up a couple months ago, and as I spoke to the driver the son of the original RTC'er saw me and started shouting abuse at me. Then today minding my own business, I see a nice looking motorbike as I cycle across the crossing, the rider starts making 'wanker' gestures and shouting shit at me, then I realise - it was the husband that threatened me back 6 months to the day.

Called the police. Police were next to no help at all, as usual.

  • Next time ('cos it sounds like there will be) make sure you hear them threatening to kill you and then tell the cops.

  • Next time make sure you record them threatening to kill you........

  • I think you misread those gestures. I think they were more like repeated downward stabbing motions. That is far more likely to get the filth interested.

  • Whats best procedure in the event of accident where i was passd and fell off bike without being hit by car ? Was indicating right and driver overtook me and as i reacted moving left fell off fracturing ulna and bashing knee which is now size of balloon. I have name mobile number and registration of vehicle. Sorry for rubbish typing but was right arm.I know its all on here somewhere but am typing with somenoe elses hand!
    thanks

  • If you feel that the driver caused the accident, through bad driving, then see a solicitor about claiming off his insurance.

If you don't think the driver was at fault, meh.

  • They shouldn't be overtaking at a junction, especially if you were signalling.

Report and claim off their insurance.

  • Report to the police asap.
Are you a member of BC or any other cycling associations?

  • Remember you can report to the met online now.

  • Thanks folks - i'm reporting on Roadsafe - I assume that is correct one ? It wasnt a junction but was turning to farm shop but with no road markings. Yes i'm member of CTC or whatever they are called now. next port of call

  • No
    Roadsafe is for close calls
This was then causing accident and injury
    Report to IRL plod

  • Ah ok thanks. Sorry can't find url i need and searching a bit tricky as have wrong hand to type with

  • Call 101 or visit your nearest station to report it, and in case there are any cctv/dashcam/gopro footage that can be used take it with you or get hold of it.

If there is evidence, it is a clear violation of an actual road law: dangerous driving.

  • Thanks guys, now reported and have police coming to take details on monday as cant walk to station

  • See Road Traffic Act 1988.
If your incident fits the bill then report it as a non-stop RTC to the filth. I know there was no collision but the proximity of the offending vehicle caused the fall.
    http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1988/52/section/170

  • Thanks. He did stop but first letter of registration number isn't clear on the piece of paper and both possibles are showing up as untaxed and without mot on the DVLA. Note to self; Next time take more details. 2nd note to self let there never be a next time.

  • Search on insurance sites and it will give you the make of car which should allow you to narrow it down.

  • The driver is required to provide his details and that of the vehicle and its owner. If he has failed to do that adequately he still commits the offence of FTSR. Go on Askmid and try a few variations of the index number until you get the right one though the filth will do this with what info you already have. The onus of reporting this is on the car driver by law.
