^^ If he hit you then the Police should be interested. Although what they actually do about it may vary depending on who investigates and how much you push them.

I briefly spoke with Tesco and from the way it sounded it i doubt it will go anywhere, shame, but i left a message on the fb page so you never know, the right person may see it and so something.

I'm a bit surprised. In places I worked if we had any complaints we had to investigate it straight away.
When I supplied temp drivers to Hovis 3 strikes and your out.
I would make a bit more noise and see what happens.
Also if you have the plate and location they can see what he was doing on gps at the time.

They would probably do more if i actually got knocked off, I may go into the store with the information, i remember exactly where it happened at what time.
The main problem is, i don't fully know what my options are when something like that happens.

contact them and tell them
-
• #6857
I did, i just got a vibe that nothing will happen, not much else i can do, i thought it would be a lot easier!
Now i feel like the idiot...

Did they respond on facebook? You could try asking if they have a transport dept.
-
• #6859
Nope, to be honest i'm not very good at this sort of thing, not to comfortable on the phone, i hoped they would have an email i could write to.

I tweeted at an estate agency about one of their liveried cars the other day - over revs when I'm holding primary while passing parking, close pass and speeding. They responded, civilly and apologetically, very fast, I guess did not like the public medium of my complaint.
-
• #6861
Should have responded "but everyone thinks estate agents are cunts anyways?" would have had you then.
-
• #6862
I guess did not like the public medium of my complaint.
Or were civil people, were sorry and are efficient. Seems unlikely for an estate agent tho. Shit through their letterbox just in case.

Idiotic ups driver nearly reversed into me. A family stopped to ask if I'm ok.
Will email ups and psni. But I didn't have their details...so doubt psni can help. (Forgot better next time!)

What can you do with a licence plate number?
Track someone? Write them a stern letter?

Nice to see the kid riding a bike with "prog" on the down tube. Will presumably progress to a Genesis when a bit older.

Share The Road is supported by road haulage, I don't know if they paid anything. Denby Transport support the campaign so we get lots on what cyclists should wear and not so much on drunk, uninsured or distracted HGV drivers.

This fucker was inches away from taking out another cyclist just in front of me on Old Street roundabout this morning. There were a few of us going straight over from East to West and he just blasts up the lane right into our path. I heard him coming so could swerve to the left but the guy in front didn't and was within a whisker of being dragged under the wheels.
Will roadsafe it but without witnesses (other than me - the others all rode off) or video footage probably no point :/edit - can't upload pic but it was, naturally, another skip lorry.

Write them a stern letter?
If by "stern" you mean "filled with poop", then yes. A very, very stern letter.

"
When cyclists say ‘Share the road’ we mean ‘Please don’t kill us'.
When drivers say ‘Share the road’ they mean ‘Get out of the way’.

Reported van man.
PSNI agent goes "It's a partial reg with a few thousand matches. We will contact UPS but we can't force them to tell us who it was"
I goes: "Hang on you are the police but you can't force them?"
Officer: "No only request it as it was a partial reg. But they should get in touch with us".Ah well...

exactly, "share the road" is such a bullshit philosophy.
As for the policeman saying we need to get away from a blame culture? Isn't that the exact fucking point of the police? To ascertain where blame may lie?
It all rolls into a culture of cycling deaths and injuries as being acceptable and inevitable.

"share the road" from the same people that brought you #prayforLATESTSMASSHOOTINGLOCATION, twibbons and roadsafe
P15 KEA
Did not give a fuck that I was disturbed by him driving his van that close to me.
He pulled into a side road to double back behind me, but fucked off when I wasn't having any of it.
He took a picture of me - I'm guessing so that he could wank over it.
