• Just had to report a lorry:

"I was cycling in the same direction (west) as the lorry and stopped at the ASL for a red light. The lorry was slowly edging forward into it, so I turned around to look at the driver and check he'd seen me. That's when I noticed he was talking on a mobile phone. I shrugged at him to indicate my displeasure and he opened the window and screamed "F*ck off, pal, f*ck off! In all this? All this traffic? I'm going zero miles an hour." I was quite intimidated by this, as any normal person would be. There were no company details on the lorry so I can't report it to them."

    How boring all this is.

  • lorry driver

    was it liveried?

  • Almost brand new lorry, in a convoy of two, in City of London, immaculate grey/silver things. Spotlessly clean. No livery. Weird.

  • Used Gov.uk website to get this, but no owner details were available. Says it's white but it ain't.

    Vehicle make MERCEDES
Date of first registration 01 April 2014
    Year of manufacture 2014
    Cylinder capacity (cc) 6374cc
    CO₂Emissions Not available
    Fuel type DIESEL
    Vehicle status Tax not due
    Vehicle colour WHITE
    Vehicle type approval N3
    Wheelplan 3 AXLE RIGID BODY

  • Quite likely it was white when it left the factory and was getting painted to have liveries.

  • "Outrage as professional drivers are expected to drive professionally."

  • He doesn't know the law either, it's not a bad piece apart from the misuse of statistics to blame cyclists for filtering, which he reckons is against the rules.

  • it's not a bad piece apart from

    Apart from most of it.

  • Nah, he's basically saying that contrary to popular belief cyclists often do have insurance so don't be afraid to gather evidence and call him to make a claim if some dickhead damages your lorry with their pushbike because they were not wearing hi viz when you drove over them.

  • Cyclists create specific hazards and drivers shouldn’t be afraid to point out the risk presented by a cyclist with whom a collision has occurred

    Oh yeah.

  • It's only fair - I mean, how else do you get your money back from a dead body?

  • Brilliant, my employers use weightmans solicitors, I'll be doing my best to bad month them in general from now on.

  • Good god Holmes, you're right! How do you do it?!

    It's alright everybody. Case solved.

  • an out of control car, you say!?

  • That look like a pedestrians area, how the fuck did the driver fuck this up so badly?

  • Looks like Guildford.

how the fuck did the driver fuck this up so badly?

    Surrey drivers.

  • Also the driver was 92 years old...

  • Must've forgotten the area was pedestrianised recently.

  • lots of classic references to the car losing control (no driver involvement as ever)

I through only cyclists could case this kind of CARnage on the pavement.

  • Wow no mention of drivers for quite some time till you scroll down.

  • That look like a pedestrians area, how the fuck did the driver fuck
    this up so badly?

I don't know. Why not speculate wildly anyway?

  • Must've forgotten the area was pedestrianised recently

    Another case solved!

  • It's ok people, the occupants of the car have been able to collect their belongings, heaven forbid that their day should be any further inconvinced.

Mark's just given us an update from the scene, where he has just seen an elderly couple return to what would appear to be their stricken Volkswagen Golf to collect their belongings.
