• Thanks, will do.

  • I'm fucking angry just reading that...!

  • Not been able to do much work, I'm so angry.

  • Why aren't people calling 999(assuming you aren't) its an accident and they left the scene and you have registration. Also registrations of any witnesses I hope.

Sorry hope that doesn't come across as shitty and hope your not scuffed up too bad, but I'm suprised sometimes by the almost non reaction of the injured parties on here.

  • If I had been seriously hurt I would have (I did that when I fractured my hand). You're right about witnesses. I should have noted those down. I was too caught up in trying to catch the bloke and tell him to be more considerate!

  • I reported the cunt that swerved at me. It won't achieve shit but if he kills or injures someone there might at least be a record of him being a fuckwit in the past.

  • From personal experience police do hardly anything at all, but you should just to get a police number in case you need to claim anything from their insurers. At current have an insurance claim with liability accepted by insurers, but police haven't done anything.

  • Can you make a claim on a motorists insurance even if they didn't stop?

  • Make the claim against the driver directly. Obtain their name and address usi g a form V888.

  • close pass by a Freeway Coach Services coach this morning. Politely asked the driver to be more careful. His response - "why? the other cyclist didn't complain."

  • Lovely driver and passenger of Black Jeep on South Croxted Road this morning. Seemed to be letting me out as a Bus was still at the stop, just start pulling out when he speeds up and almost squashes me against the bus(managed to stop inches behind the bus). Asked him at the next set of lights why he did that, 'I gave you plenty of time'

I love it. Similar to a time when a double decker bus passed me so close at such speed on the Leabridge road my life flashed before my eyes; driver's response, I shit yea not, "What's the problem? I didn't actually hit you"

Complaint went in to TFL, something was done, apparently.

  • Not so much of a dangerous driver but I just complained to Yodel about their driver that drove up a segregated cycle lane and then parked in it, blocking the whole lane. Douche bag move as there was cyclists behind him that then had to hop over the cobbled section and join traffic.

He then drove about 50m down Oxford Road on the pavement according to one of my twitter buddies.

  • Do people still use Yodel?

  • Amazon do. So 'people' do.

  • Amazon do.

Correct. And I would pay extra money to have them promise not to deliver via Yodel.

  • yodel recently 'delivered' two packages to my house, except despite being home all day they left it with a 'neighbour' in the a completely different block of flats on our street.

a neighbour who for 10 days I have been unable to find any sign of even living in the flat so i had to get a refund instead.

  • I love my new hats

  • Correct. And I would pay extra money to have them promise not to deliver via Yodel.

    You're not the only one.

  • Saw this on the back of a bus on Monday and thought "Why is this important?".

Buses operate within a ever-changing and randomly affected environment, how would something telling the driver what time he is due do anything other than add pressure and encourage risk-taking to make it on time? Especially as its pretty much widely understood that bus drivers are heavily leaned on to get to their stops on time.

This is in no way a good thing. If you are waiting for a bus and it is late, no big deal - its probably stuck in traffic. Its a bus. Target based policies cannot work and should not be implement in this industry, especially where TFL buses have murdered and crippled generations of road users for years.

  • Mistertea, you have it wrong.

They are equipped with GPS, so that the bus stop sign (and 'countdown' website) can tell you roughly how long until the next bus arrives. E.g. "oh the bus is at this bus stop now? That means it'll be at the next bus stop in around 5 minutes".

It's nothing to do with enforcing timetables AFAIK.

  • True, it's so folk know whether to rush the last of their pint or dwell over it, to minimise time spent standing at the bus stop.

But, although it is not the point of the ad, it could be used to enforce timetables. Does anyone know what sort of pressures bus drivers are actually put under to meet timetables and what steps they are expected to take to stay on-time?

  • I heard from an ex-driver it doesn't matter if they're late but they must never ever leave early. Dunno how true that is. He's perhaps not the most reputable of sources.

  • Knowing you have plenty of time to walk to the next stop is also very nice. I hate waiting..

  • There is a driver on the number 3 who often has massive arguments with the control room for leaving early/being too quick

"Mah peoples got places to go bro!"
