^^ One quote from the BBC report leapt out at me - 'Steve McNamara, from the LTDA, said: "We did not set out to cause disruption to Londoners."'
I can only assume from this that Mr. McNamara is
- Claiming that he and all cabbies are incredibly stupid, and didn't realise the consequences of the demonstration; or
- Thinks the public is incredibly stupid and won't realise that he's lying through his teeth.
- Claiming that he and all cabbies are incredibly stupid, and didn't realise the consequences of the demonstration; or

"Despite the protest, Uber said it had seen the number of people downloading its app increase by 850% compared to last Wednesday."

Way to go taxi cunts

Uber should be thanking these guys, they've done a great job of increasing brand awareness for them

'Judge Mary Jane Mowat described the incident as “truly tragic” and added: “A prison sentence would serve no purpose and would help no-one.”'
Wouldn't it? Wouldn't it go in some small way towards helping reduce the pervading sense that it's ok to allow your mind to wander so badly while piloting your metal weapon that you end the lives of anyone unfortunate enough to be in your way?
You'd think.
Judge Mary Jane Mowat is a metal weapon.

Why the fuck do so many cunts despise ordinary people for trying to protect their livelihood, and instead support a company backed by goldman sachs? It's not like anyone is forced to use a black cab.
My old man was a taxi driver. He earned a mint. Believe me, cabbies are not fighting to keep the wolf from the door.

But people are forced to use something other than black cabs when they all have a hissy fit and strike.

Well first thanks for inferring I'm a cunt, and then negging me a cunt.
I'm sure your imagination is capable of figuring out why a lot of cyclists have something against taxi drivers. No one here is siding with Goldman Sachs, I don't give a rats ass who Uber is owned by. I'm just happy that a bunch of taxi drivers who set out to disrupt the streets of London have ironically helped out their competitors.
Enjoy the rest of your huff puff and smoke.

He implied, you inferred. Just put Jeez on ignore like everyone else - makes the world a much nicer, saner and erudite place.

Thanks for pointing that out. I wonder how long I have been getting that wrong and in how many reports.

It's been said before, but the black cab drivers are moaning about (metaphorically) a slight reduction in their food supply, whereas what they should really be concerned about is the "extinction event" meteorite (AKA Google robo-cars) which is hurtling through the heavens toward them. The cunts.

• #4964
I repeat - why the fuck are ordinary people so ready to side with an american bank over ordinary british people? It is that fucked up thinking that gives us right wing goverments and the fucked up inequality and house prices that are fucking us all over.
Don't be ridiculous. It's not people siding with a yank bank, it's people thinking "ooh what a nifty option, that's really handy, I'll use Uber" then when black cabbies strike people think "I can't strike to keep my earnings at level x, why the hell can they? Pricks. I'll vote with my wallet".

Fuckers should be more concerned with Ashton Kutcher being a shareholder...

Don't worry - robo cars and things like Halo are coming for them.

Until it happens to the grandchild of Mary, these nonsensical decisions will continue.

Ok. This is being a marker for me until tomorrow morning.
Until now Jeez I've had some agreements with you and some not. However that's ok.
That statement is really taking the piss. I'm going to wait to decide if I ignore or not now.

I'm pondering...

Did I say that they were?
I said that they were ordinary people fighting to protect their livelihood (driving a cab) against goldman sachs (who clearly have more power and money than the average cab driver). This is in a world where you already have numerous options and no-one needs to use a black cab if they don't want to.
I repeat - why the fuck are ordinary people so ready to side with an american bank over ordinary british people? It is that fucked up thinking that gives us right wing goverments and the fucked up inequality and house prices that are fucking us all over.
Because taxi drivers are cunts, perhaps.
Ballsy, selfish, incompetent, tattooed, aggressive, in-your-face, opiniated, UKIP-voting wankstains (if you'll excuse the pleonasm at the end, there...) who regularly put other road users in mortal danger because making money is more important than anything else.

Probably because Uber offers an alternative that is actually affordable to 'ordinary people', whilst still playing by the rules of normal traffic (not using bus lanes/doing dangerous u-turns/pulling in or out without indicating/etc).
Edit: ^Or that.

If only Black Cabs would go South of the River they may pickup more money.

I certainly hope that they're better than the retarded fucknuggets who work for Addison Lee...
Driving two abreast, slowing everyone down. Hardly any with hi-viz. Menace.
