I'd suggest reporting dangerous pedestrians as well. If you cycle in central London, you should understand.
And it amazes me how many drivers turn without their turn lights on!

The other week I was nearly wiped out cycling down Bayswater Road by a black cab driver who moved from lane two into lane one forcing me to brake suddenly and swerve to avoid being hit. Relatively usual occurrence there but at the next lights I pulled alongside the cab to ask if he'd just decided to do that on purpose as there seemed to be no other reason. As I looked through the window he had a big folder of CDs open and was holding a nice selection, not paying any attention to what he was doing at all. He then told me I should 'pay attention' but I did suggest that if I hadn't been paying attention then I'd have been under his cab now. I also asked if he paid such good attention when it was that he actually passed me given there was hardly anything on the road; he had no memory of even passing me.
Reported to the Roadsafe 'black hole', from whence no reports ever emerge, and also to the PCO who just emailed me back:
Thank you for your recent email regarding the conduct of a licensed taxi driver. Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to you.
I am sorry to hear of your experience, and I can confirm that we will raise this matter with the driver concerned and that we will remind him of his responsibilities under the Highway Code and as a licensed taxi driver. Once again, thank you for taking the time to bring this matter to our attention.

You can't charge people just beacuse someone has used a website to complain about them. If an offence is that serious, it needs to be reported properly.

The NHS replied to my email a couple of days later, telling me I should report it to the Met, which I had already done.
Not expecting much to come of it, as it was a pretty minor infraction but I really don't like that junction and I feel the need to make a point about the bad driving which I see there almost daily.
Also, I note the premise of this thread is to report dangerous drivers, not to bitch and moan about them.
Most of the driving I see in London is fine, but it only takes one dick to so something stupid and you're dead.
I wonder how many vehicles I encounter on an average commute, and how that compares to the overall collision rate in London.

It's for 'intelligence'. I reported being hit by a coach and they emailed back saying I should 'report this to the police'. I didn't bother though because last time I reported a transit van that went through a red light and hit me I filled out a load of paperwork and the cops seemed like they couldn't care less. A few months later I got a letter saying it 'had not been detected' despite me giving registration, description of the van, description of the driver and had an independent witness to say he was stopped at a red light then just drove off, through the signal and hit me.
Still think it's worth reporting stuff to Roadsafe though because at least there are stats about this stuff. Higher up cops tend to report 'no crime' if there are no reports of crime to appear like they're doing a good job so giving them plenty of reports is probably a good thing.

That's pretty much my view too - if a crime was committed and you have witnesses or a credible story you are willing to stand behind, together with identifying information (registration, etc) then a full on police report is worth making - they might consider it worth going forward with a prosecution.
Otherwise, at the very least, a report via roadsafe makes sure that the stats are that little bit more accurate. Your report on its own will probably have no effect, but they are probably looking for patterns and trends. That will presumably ultimately influence decisions about what the police spend their money doing. It's hard to get much of a budget to curb a problem if you have no evidence of it being a problem in the first place. -

I was talking to an officer after reporting an assault a while ago and he said much the same; they find it very difficult persuading their bosses to spend any money on things despite the officers themselves knowing there's a problem. If reports are made they have a good argument to support what they're saying.

Great idea! Get caught and one of two things will happen:
- You get to be on the receiving end of a kicking.
- You get to experience the justice system when you are prosecuted for criminal damage.
I realise that this is probably a joke but it isn't funny, accept that the world is full of cunts and move, on it will save you hassle in the long run.

Here we go again...
Whizz up a load of fish entrails in a blender and then mix with some water before pouring into an ice cube tray.
Find the offending parked car and place (when frozen, obviously) the ice cubes over the air outlets at the bottom of the windscreen.
Then fuck off home knowing that when the driver sticks the blowers on, he or she and their passengers will probably chunder.

I was cycling to work, heading west along St John's Way just after the junction with Mulkern Rd.
I was about to pull out to go past a parked car, but had to stop instead as a skip lorry approaching from behind had left me insufficient space into which to manoeuvre.
As the lorry passed me, I noticed the driver's right hand was holding a mobile phone to his head and he appeared to be having a conversation (there was nobody else in the cab).
I followed him all the way to the lights at the A1 roundabout where he stopped at the red signal, still having his phone conversation.
He completed his conversation before the lights changed to green and turned to go southbound on the A1.
I pulled up at the next lights and noted down these details.
The van was marked Generay and had the phone number 02089000828 which matches that found at http://www.generayltd.co.uk/Contact-Us/
I shall also be reporting this to Generay Ltd. directly.Reported.
There will "always" be conflict between drivers and cyclists in any city, the fact is that the *Police don't really care#*
I've been riding both Motorcycles and pushbikes in London for over 20 years and have (just once) had a Policeman come to my aid,
My attitude now is that unless "directly threatened" by the behaviour of anyone else; I'll keep my own council and go about my business.
I learned my lesson last week, when after rebuking a van driver on the Hendon way for using his phone whilst both driving and speaking to his passengers; he litteraly wedged me between his vehicle and the curb then sped off.
After looking around for witnesses "everyone" seemed to be looking elsewhere.
The truth is that people such as that BMW driver cannot be reasoned with without the threat of consequences..sadly the only people that can administer this are the Police.. please refer to #
