  • Massive thanks to all involved, glad to see how it went so smoothly, was great to see such a mix of bikes, people, and clothing!

Will consider actually USING the motor on the back of the bike next year though!

  • Glorious day. Thanks and bravo Jacqui and Teddy for your hard work, superb Tweed Run 2010!!

    Loic

  • Amazing everything, and I have a fabulous headache to prove it. Special mention everyone who travelled for it... mf, The General, and via the slow boat from the Americas, Tarik.

Oh, and go easy on the organic, atomic snuff.

  • Massive thanks to all involved, glad to see how it went so smoothly, was great to see such a mix of bikes, people, and clothing!

Really glad the weather held and looks like you all had a top time.
"Props" or a gentlemanly equivalent to Teddy, Jacqui and co.

  • Amazing day yesterday thanks to everyone for impeccable organisation and impeccable conduct throughout.

Went to get an icecream from the kiosk in Kensington gardens when the tea ran out and heard a bunch of people saying "the weed run, what the hell is that?" realised when I got up this morning that the zip tie was covering up the letter T on my bike number. That's probably another ride for another day.

Anyway special thanks to chuck from Amsterdam who saved me at the start by tying my bowtie for me, which I had spent a sweary hour at home trying and failing to do before setting off-lovely to meet you and eva, congratulations on winning the bike hope you get it home ok!

  • You made it home on the non motorised motor bike then?

Damn straight! Took me most of the evening, and the sprung saddle didnt do my genitals any favours.....but I got there!

  • Teddy, Jacqui, marshalls - thank you so much for a wonderful day. Huge thanks to the sponsors as well.

My head really hurts this morning. "Free" and "Gin" are now my two favourite words in the English Language.

  • What an amazing day! Thanks to Teddy, Jacqui and all the marshalls etc
    Can't wait for next year

  • I just happened to be on Jermyn street with my family at the time everyone set off - as a bystander it looked brilliant, London needs lot's more of this kind of event.

I'm posting on here though because of the serious *hole cabbie who was blowing a gasket, threatening the marshals and onlookers where the road was blocked at Jermyn St. He must have been there all of 30s before he started getting abusive, he got out and tried to wrestle with someone at one point, then got back in his cab and started to drive it into the marshals, everyone was yelling at him and he backed down. When some bloke on the pavement told him to calm down he got a mouthful of abuse and threats, all in front of the kids and other onlookers.

All the while the marshals were very, very calm, mostly apologising and asking him to be patient - huge respect to them.

I'm generally pretty tolerant of drivers and other peoples behaviour on the roads, we all eventually have to get on and I think things are slowly moving in the right direction, vast improvement to how things were 20 years or so ago at any rate. However, when you see someone behaving like this I just think they are a danger to us all and belong in the past, and off the roads. Seriously, enough of them!

So if anyone else saw this incident and wants to report it, I got the details below.

You can fill out a form here: https://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/contact/pco/

  • it makes me laugh that they call it 'the knowledge' when a lot of it's pupils are quite obviously a bit thick. (except Fred Housego who is a bit clever)

  • Cracking day thanks to Teddi, Jacqui and the marshalls

and to Geo F Trumper for seeing it fit to give me 3rd prize...score

  • Thank you one and all!!

  • The Tweed Run 2010 certainly had a different vibe than the original but in a positive way.

Last year since it was a forum event I knew over 50% of the riders.

Yesterday, besides the marshals, I saw fewer familiar faces.

Just shows how much the forum has grown in a year a what a truly global success the Tweed Run has become.

Awesome day, bikes and outfits. Very well organized event which has upped the standards and expectations.

Can't wait until the next Tweed Run. Cheers!

  • Fabulous day, had a wonderful time ... Many many thanks to Teddy, Jacqui and all of the Marshalls ... caps off to all the riders, helpers, sponsors ... you guys all rock ... brilliant atmosphere! Loved the smiles from all we passed.

  • what a supernice day again - thank you, thank you, to everyone for their hard work organising and marshalling. what lovely manners all round, apart from the loathsome cabbies...
amazing fun, going to look at pictures now. chaps - i say keep those moustaches!
absolutely everyone looked gorgeous, some really inspired outfits.
    hurrah!

  • A great day - many thanks to Teddy and Jacqui for giving up so much of their time to organise it. Thanks also to the marshalls for doing a great job....
I'm off to get more aspirin and alka seltzer....I blame my headache totally on that "snuff" aka cayenne pepper!! Here's to next year!

  • what, what! i've just woken up from a 12 hour marathon of sleep.

thank you everyone for an absolutely spiffing day yesterday. lovely to see so many smiling faces. thanks especially to those that came from the colonies and the outer reaches of europe. hope you had a marvelous day.

and an enormous thanks and debt of gratitude to our wonderful marshalls and volunteers, who absolutely made the day. the apparent easiness of yesterday's festivities is entirely down to you, so caps off!

doff of the cap also to all of our wonderful sponsors without whom the day would not have happened. i trust you had a good day as well.

special thanks to mr b the gentleman rhymmer, top shelf jazz, and dj tom kerwin for the floor fillers... and of course the incredible team of swing dancers for filling the floor!

a high-caloric thank you to the multitudes who baked cakes and cookies for our bake sale — especially for bam for organising that.

we raised well over £1000 for bikes for africa, which is enough to refurbish and send an entire shipping container of bicycles to africa! i'll post the final amount once all the counting and tallying's been done, but well done, chaps!

  • Well done teddy & jacqui! Also head marshalls, marshalls & all the lovely riders!

I had to walk home alot of the way from the green man as i realised i hadn't eaten and was quite smashed. I had a big fat smile on my face still as it was such a lovely day. I sobered up by kennington..

    Here's one of my faves:

  • really impressed with that frame you made very nice

+1, had a good long look at it. Great Penguin colour scheme!

  • It was really great by the way to meet Mr General Lucifer!

We talked at length about Xerox-assisted identity theft homicidal gloryhole booths, which seemed perfectly natural.
