But technically people could turn up and tag along if they wanted?

Of course, you can't close the roads like they can in God's own island. Riff-raff are sadly inevitable...

Ah but you wouldn't qualify for all those goodies for the nattiest tash and tweeds competition.
Its pity Jos and keith aren't going to be there this year to welcome us with coffee and fine bikes, real shame.
I quite liked the anarchy and odd looks we got last year.
and the friendly bobbies. -

The ride departs at midday, and takes a 14-mile route through the heart of London taking in Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and St Paul's Cathedral before a finishing party at Bishopsgate. The pace will be leisurely, and will feature a tea break in the park.
A tea break! How splendid!

so how are they going to know who's registered or not?
we'll know who's registered. participants are getting flashy lovely numbers for their good selves and their bicycles. also helps in the judging for prizes.

sorry to say, but the list doesn't actually mean you've registered. you'll have to register on our website on 27 feb when the registration opens.

no worries - I got that. I've been pouring over the official site, excitedly choosing which facial adornement I'm going to grow.
I was sent a tub of moustache wax by The Chap some time back, for literary services rendered.
With this, I intend to be resplendent.

I would try and grow some facial hair but would be embarresed when I turned up. I'm just going to don the hat and scarf.
They're opening a registration list on their website on Feb 27th. Their list will say who is registered and I imagine they'll give out wrist bands or something to tag onto your bike or some such.
The list on this thread is really about identifying which forumengers are intending to go, it isn't the sign-up list for the ride... that is on their website next month.
