Had email overnight saying i'd be kicked out by 20th march if i don't get confirmation email sorted... Guess i'd better start choppin and get onto it - warning to others to check, and to those without a place that places may come up after 20th.

so... turns out I may be free on this date, I know its all booked up but are you saying that if one was to turn up on the day one would be told to do one?

Or you could sign up for Marshalling the ride (and still get to dress in tweed).

at certain points of the ride yes as its restricted access to ticket holders only plus it could scuffer similar future plans of jacquis and teddys that require the organisers to have a leash of some kind on an event. last but not least it could subject them to a fine for not keeping their promise on this event.
sorry if i missed something.

The ride has an events permit, and has taken extensive negotiation with 4 borough councils, several royal parks and the met police to pull off. The ride is very much a leader for future events, I believe. If this goes well, and we stick to the allowed 400 people, then the future (hopefully larger) events will be easier to organise, given (hopefully) past successes.
As Teddy said up-thread:
well. our event permit is only for 400. so if tons of extra people show up, i run the risk of a massive (in the neighbourhood of tens of thousands of pounds) fine from westminster council. so... i'm rather less than keen on people who haven't registered showing up to start the ride.
If you are desperate to come along, in tweed for the day, I believe Teddy is still short a few marshals, and will appreciate the help. You should contact him directly about this.

Failing the marshal route, there will be people dropping out before the day and Teddy's planning another first come first served registration for places that won't be taken up.

Pardon? not to dampen your plans but as the person handling the reg I can tell you that of the 400, most have confirmed. I would not hold your breath.
The point of the reg means that the person who registered is assigned that number. We don't have extra or duplicate numbers so it's not likely. -

@ rhb - yes you got an email from me saying that unconfirms will be deleted, that doesn't mean that the place goes up for grabs at a later date.. although I can see why you might this that.

Of course I bow to your insider knowledge though.

Apologies, seems i misunderstood also.
It'd be nice to have 400 riders still though if folks do drop out... ;)
The tweed site doesn't appear to be working - is this just my laptop playing up or is there a problem with the site?
