  • What time does everybody gather? Just need to know for booking train tickets and such.

  • You're not going to go wrong by being too early. At the very least if you were hours and hours early there are enough coffee shops to keep you in espressos and croissants until kick-off.

  • charity shops, brick lane style 'vintage' shops, ebay, posh shooting/hunting clothing websites or a bespoke tailors are pretty much your only options I'm afraid old boy.

you see that's the wrong idea ol chap. as fruitbat will confirm, unless its pouring with rain tweed and wool lend themselves very well to everyday riding. a good pair of plus fours will be your riding companion for many miles after this 'novelty ride'. invest wisely.
cheers snowyagain. jd on this forum is also a good sauce/source and he did say he had some in. he is based in camden. tell him i sent you as i am trying to earn discount points on a chrome mercian track frame he has :-)

    Many thanks gents. Pip pip.

  • Forgive the stupid question, but where does one acquire a tweed outfit without having a bespoke one made like this charming little number http://www.rapha.cc/timothy-everest-and-rapha-threepiece-cycling-suit ? I have wasted literally some time on-line searching. Country gents boutiques seem ridiculously expensive for a novelty ride. Has anyone found a cheaper alternative that doesn't involve trawling charity shop?

Loads on eBay, budget for about £50

  • Is there going to be some sort of fun and frolicks late into the evening?
If I'm going to come all the way down to London, I may as well ensure I get properly fucked up and make a tit of myself.

yes of course. the cads at hendricks are serving up a few gin and tonics for us at the end of the ride (for free) and we're having a bit of a party. there's allowances to stay at the venue afterwards if you want to continue on. we're open to suggestions on where to go afterwards!

  • What time does everybody gather? Just need to know for booking train tickets and such.

ride leaves at noon, sharp. maybe allow for luncheon with the chaps at the club before hand?

  • Capital, Teddy, Capital. I'll probably allow time for a W and S at the Drones with Tuppy and Barty, before popping along to Mrs Wilberforce's Chop House for a steak and Ale pie and a game of billiards.
Does anyone have the contact details of a reliable prostitute in the East End that I might kill and mutilate while I have time to spare? I trust this is still a respectable pursuit for the upper classes - hailing from the provinces does have it's drawbacks when to keeping abreast of the latest serial killing fads, one knows!
    Toodle-oo!

time moves on, trends come and go. the killing of prostitutes is now rather frowned upon in polite society.

  • What a faux pas! I'm so frightfully sorry...
Is it still alright to sell the position of our troops on the front line to Jerry, or is that also bad form?

  • it's only okay if you're wearing brown brogues at the time..

  • The Brigadier is unlikely to be so louche as to wear brown in town.

A gentleman officer's dress uniform shall always be adorned with highly polished black plain Oxfords.

No gentleman officer would sell military secrets to the Bosch, hence the brown.
