Can I get myself on the standby list for the coach, I've left this a bit late, only deciding to come last night. I can always get an official coach ticket if not - but if multiple people pull out can I'll gladly take the place on the LFGSS coach!I assume the ride is going to be life affirming!

Just booked my one-way train ticket to London. Will be riding back to 31 miles from home (Norwich). Will either be a tired phone call to the missus for a lift (Ford Ka, not easy) or a ride home from the beach (not easy).

If you're on the coach and aren't yet on the mailing list, then go here:
http://lists.lfgss.com/listinfo/dd2010The point of the mailing list is to provide a few things:
1) Emergency single point of contact to everyone on the ride (assuming you all have mobiles that can pick up email).
2) Logistics for the coach back
3) A semi-secure way of sharing contact details in advance (such as Google Latitude email addresses)As for the logistics.
The van will be at London Fields Saturday night, and will meet us during the ride should you need it. The coach is due at Dunwich for 9am, and the coach and van are aiming to depart at High Noon and carry you back to Smithfields Market.
The coach is run by PJ Ellis, and it should be a plain white one that looks nice. It will say either Buro 9 or LFGSS in the window. And I will be checking who's onboard prior to departure to make sure no-one that paid isn't there (and if someone who hasn't paid is there I'll boot them off unless it was pre-agreed with me or there are spaces and they can pay later).
Aside from that... general advice is to try and carry enough food to not need the rest stop, and go at your own pace.

Awesomez. Cheers, VB. That's quite some organising! Has Tika's pulling out been taken into consideration? Are me and my friend in? :)

Hello,
This is my first DD and this thread has been really informative. I needed that tip about varying food or I'd have stuffed my pockets with tedious bars. So thanks.
I have an iPhone and want to use it to navigate, can someone explain how that can be done? GPSies doesn't seem to display maps. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious.
-
• #625
Fuck this is more complicated than it should be, you can't view your own maps in the Gmap iPhone app yet for some reason...
I did convert the gpx map to a Google Map: http://tinyurl.com/dunrun2010
Now just need a way to view custom Google Maps on the iPhone, http://mymapsmobile.com/ should do the trick but I can only get it to show points, no the line of the route, d'oh.
Woops! Amended.
