You really don't need to bother with OS maps, you're not going to be going off road.

Get a Collins road atlas from a discount book store, cut out the relevant pages and fold them into sandwich bag to keep them clean. Job done.

You don't really even need a compass. As long as you pay attention to where you've come from, it's pretty easy to orient yourself.

The coach is finally paid for... talk about 11th hour. PJ Ellis weren't too hot on the communication, but they're nice people and we've finally got it all sorted.

I did have a plan B though. Am glad to not need to use it.

Oliver, you should know that what you have displayed is a pair of compasses, not the singular 'compass' that was mentioned.

what was plan b?

A fleet of small boats to pick us off the beaches and carry us back to London. Pedalo's were almost there but I was thinking a Dunkirk style canal boat invasion.

As I assume there's a possibility of more people dropping out close to the time, is there any chance of getting added to the waiting list?
I realise I'm more of a lurker in the classified section than a regular user of the site... but I will be riding it fixed at least.
Having second thoughts about riding to Ipswich and really can't face the official coaches again.

Also - Just managed to load that GPX file onto an Android phone via Linda File Manager and MyTracks - works great.
