^ The winter league wouldn't account for changing team line-ups and progression over time though? It's nice to be able to switch things up (power team solely for Euros qualification type thing if anyone felt inclined) and stuff...
For 2009 most of the teams were put together solely for the Euro's, seems like this time everythings being organised well in advance which is changing that.
The only gripe i'd have is that such an early qualifier favours league teams over purposely formed teams, meaning non-league players don't get a look in.

is this going any where?
everyone who wants to play in the quallys should make their day/2days free. Deal with it.

So, what are we looking at for a poll?
What system?
- A single day tournament (attendance required)
- A single day tournament (absentees can play before the big day)
- A multiple day tournament (attendance required at at least 1 of the days)
any more?
- A single day tournament (attendance required)

Round robin over 2/3 weeks - teams can play when they want. Basically a mini league?

Doing the qualifications as a one-dayer is going to exclude some people. True Science Fact!*
Other than wanting to increase your own chances of qualifying, by not letting all London teams compete, why would you chose to limit it, when we have time to do something fairer?
One big qualifying day will be amazing, as it was last year. But we can also allow everyone to compete by giving the option of non-attendees to play against other teams in advance. I imagine this will only be one or two teams and would be relatively easy to set up.
In terms of doing it on more than one set date; finding two dates that everyone can do will be even more difficult than finding one date. The teams who can’t make the first date will still have to play the teams who can’t make a second date. This is probably most complex.
This thread is only 17 hours old, and only half the people who registered interest in qualifying have posted here. Maybe give it another day before we move swiftly on?

yep, more time we have.
LPC membership is still filling up, i'm sure it'll take a day or two to get back to normal levels.

I move that we take the current Top 4 teams from the London League site and they go forward to the Euros, end of.
Enough banter, let's not dawdle, who's with me? Anyone? (Cough, Ray, cough, Ali, cough.)

Can we straw poll a date before we vote on format?
-
• #145
we can, but let's wait a couple of days for people to all join the new LPC (including you chukker). We're up to 28 members so far. should be more like 60.

Yes, sir. Thank you, sir.

Shit, I missed all of this excitement, and reading the whole lot in one go means there's a bunch of things I'd like to say. But right now I just want to ride over to Mitch and play some polo!
I realise that concessions can't be made for individuals, but I would urge/beg you to make this a single weekend event. There is no way I can come over for a mini-league over a 2/3 week period (or for that matter come back just for a fixture with some team who couldn't make the megapoloday qualification).
So put me down with those in the One day, one chance camp.
Or the royal rumble. That works too.
Either way, it's good to see that polotics season is back right on cue.
Right, let's go play some polo.

I like the idea of just doing it all in the one day, this is partly selfish in that reality of going through to geneva is unlikely to say the least and also because I agree with Rays' point.
On a sidenote I would like to question where people think this should be played. For me newington is the best court to play competitive polo, and while some may say Downham has better atmosphere, newington would be better for completing all the games (if we did it in one day) becausse of the two courts/lights. I know this is rather beside the point at the moment, however, for me again, where we play is as crucial to how we play.
i'm surprised at the absence of some uk cities like newcastle and glasgow, and leeds (whom i thought i expressed interest for a pre-registration spot on .ca?). if it was a concious decision by those cities that's fine, but if geneva arbitrarily decided for them i think they should still have some means to attempt to qualify.
