Never had a meaty crumble, that's an epicurean delight that's so far eluded me. However when it comes to desserts you can't get much more noble than a blackberry and apple crumble. With a decent clotted cream.

I made crumble on sunday - with apples, pears, saltanas, AND..... wait for it.... BANANA. Amazing (especially with some almonds on top). Why isn't that more common? Mushy hot banana. Yeah.

I made a nice big mince pie with some left over mincemeat from Christmas. Made it with some mixed spice in the pastry and some lemon rind and apple mixed in with the mincemeat. Damn tasty, would have been shit as a crumble.
